On a side note: what the heck is going on with the ever-lasting Jimmy Fallon hate?
I'm pretty sure that he's and okay guy, and even though it's more than logical that we don't all share or appreciate his sense of humor, we can at least appreciate him being a genuine Nintendo fan, and never missing an opportunity to advertise that, as has been shown by the many appearances of Nintendo games and consoles on his show.

But no, let's focus on totally unrelated stuff, and on how he's a despicable person because #reasons...
Pffff.... these are the kind of days that I wish that the internet was either dead, or that the idiots posting this kind of stuff would get the equivalent of their incoherent babble returned to them in the form of a taser charge coming straight from their own keyboards...

@ThanosReXXX I feel better after some yoga and spin. Maybe we can emerge fully from our safe spaces make up after riding Pelotons for a while and talk about feelings in a gener-neutral way.

@CanisWolfred I believe the standard reply to that would be a semi-sarcastic "have you got a minute?", but in the case of your absence, the amount of topics that has passed through, is probably too much to even comfortably recap in a single text wall...

So, in short: a lot, but a lot of it also typical to the thread: chit-chat, so largely forgettable. I'd say, just jump into the boat that we're currently on, if you have any two cents to share, and you'll be all up to date again.

I'll leave it to the others to add their own two cents on the matter, but either way: welcome back.

@NEStalgia Well, that better be the kind of yoga where we can all share our vegan body odors in a tropical sweat box. Bikram yoga, if I remember correctly. And by we, I mean myself, because I don't like to be seen or addressed as a man OR a woman. Oh, no.. wait... I'm confusing myself with Sam Smith now...

@ThanosReXXX Will do!

Those were some good animal impressions. I always was confused by Japanese interpretations of the sounds, but then again, I've known a lot of people who have grown up around animals, or even hunted them, so getting the sounds right was often stressed as important where I grew up. I don't think that's been the case in Japan for a very long time now, if ever.

So my brother found this rattlesnake movie on netflix and I'm just like... Of course, if you let your child play unsupervised in the bushes in the middle of a most rattlesnake-appropriate desert, chances are something will hurt them! Who does that?

@ThanosReXXX Wait...your vegan body odors are gluten free, right? And lactose free? And I may have a nitrogen allergy.....

@Enigminator at least those are amusing to watch, here it was just a quick bite from the worlds most rattle-less rattlesnake, and for some reason there's some sort supernatural element too.

@CanisWolfred Well, to be entirely fair to the Japanese lady, seeing as she did get some impressions right, it would seem to me that if her interpretations were the standard ones used, then it looks like it's a mix of actual mimicry and phonetic pronunciation of the calls/sounds the animals make. I mean: even a child knows that those aren't the actual sounds that a monkey or a pig makes. Or those mouse and snake impressions, also rather laughable. Or maybe that was the point, what do I know?

@StableInvadeel Well, just about every disposable character in every horror or suspense movie type ever...

@NEStalgia Well, I do like my low fat milk and cheeses, so...

Maybe they're afraid of snakes?

Yeah, that's more or less what I was getting at. I mean, I'm pretty sure while kids in the USA are learning the first letter in the alphabet, and pulling a lever to find out what the cow says, kids in Japan are learning the first 10 or so Kanji out of literally thousands. I think they have other priorities...

...Also, now I'm thirsty for more soy milk. BRB.

@CanisWolfred I certainly DO hope that you know that I was only kidding about the soy milk...
I'm a flexitarian at best. Not that I even want to, but I can't quite detach myself from my Burgundian lifestyle, nor do I see a real need to, seeing as I'm already an "everything in moderation" kinda person.

Oh, I'm fully aware. Honestly, I should note I only drink it because...I don't like real milk, and coincidentally, I became lactose intolerant as an adult. With that said: I can get soy milk in vanilla, and it tastes like melted ice cream.

Anti-Matter

@ThanosReXXX
But that was animal sounds in Indonesian language.
Indonesian called "Mbeek" for goat or sheep sounds because we pronounce ABC with different way.

You might have never heard some Indonesian words so it sounds weird or exothic for the first time.

@CanisWolfred Ah, lactose intolerant. My niece has the same problem. From that second-hand experience, I can already imagine how annoying that can be, so I'm glad I don't really have any food or drink allergy. Well, at least not that I know of.

@Anti-Matter You're missing the point, my friend. What you're talking about is phonetic spelling. As in: "and the cow goes?" and then the children respond by saying the name of the sound that the cow makes, which is mooing, or whatever it is called in whatever language. And like other people such as @bimmy-lee have also already said, all these animals make all kinds of sounds and these sounds have all kinds of human labels such as barking, howling, growling etcetera, but those are our interpretations, and not actual sounds.

What I'm talking about, is how animals ACTUALLY sound, completely detached from any country's language or spelling. If I walk past a meadow in Europe, Asia or America, and I hear a cow or a sheep, they all sound the same, so it's not the animals themselves that make "different" sounds in different countries, it's the people in those different countries, that are calling those sounds different.

By the way: as you may remember, I live in the Netherlands, and surprisingly, I found a lot of similarities between the Indonesian alphabet and the one they use over here, so "mbeek" still sounds the same to me: silly. I hear no "mb" at the beginning of a sheep's call, and I don't hear a "k" at the end of it either. See what I mean now? That's phonetic spelling, like how in a lot of countries, a gun apparently sounds like "ratatatata", but that is obviously also not the actual sound. So, "mbeek" is simply the sheep version of "ratatatata"...
