Wait what happened to anti? I loved that dude every time there was post about something he would give his own opinion which was actually unique to like the entire website and unbiased even if he liked dance dance revolution too much.
I don't like Monster Hunter.

I'm probably listening to green day right now.
@ThanosReXXX - I think there’s someone out on the lawn, but I can’t be sure. I can’t find my eyes and ears. Best to grab that bat and have a few swings just to be safe. That’ll teach em! I’m suddenly in need of a cute, chibi MK Pocket for Switch. Babalities and Friendships only.
Well it's safe to say I'm in love with links awakening. Everything is so colorful and full of life. You can see the world and dungeons so much better in hd and with better graphics than the dx version. Barely played the game on Saturday and im already onto the 6th dungeon. I think i have a problem 😜
Wow, I've still got Anti-Matter on my Switch Friend list, he was playing FFX last night. If only Switch had a messaging system so I could let him know how shocked and sad the community is by his choice to not return. (Apparently? Seems to be what everyone is saying.)

Since I saw it brought up earlier, just want to say notifications worked for me.
@bimmy-lee Glad I haven't bothered with the lawn... wild Pokemon may be hiding in the tall spots of grass.
@ThanosReXXX Haha, indeed. That's similar to me, I visited the site about two years before signing up. I think before that my friend recommended the site for Nintendo news, and linked me to articles.
@KarateLuigi This refreshing weather is perfect, it's what everyone needed after that heat wave.I like the summer heat, but this year was ridiculous, i hated it with a passion!
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
@NintendoByNature - I like it too. The look, the sounds, it’s all very pleasing. It’s like playing with toys. I haven’t played a top down Zelda in a while, and I’ve gotten tripped up a couple times on some old school puzzle design, but it’s great. Haven’t played in a few days, so I’m hoping for some time tonight. I used my last voucher on LM3 last night. If I could just splurge on something, Ghostbusters would be towards the top of the list.
@Sunsy - Random encounters too, it could take you 45 minutes to walk across the lawn.
I have four notifications for this thread from this morning, and holy blooming crap did it explode. O________O Time to start reading and working on replies....Oy.
(Obligatory replies first. Other impressions, if any, later)
@HobbitGamer Don't worry, i was just playing along. I've seen IRL what it can do to someone's mouth. The guy seriously had almost no lower jaw. Definitely not something you'll ever catch me chewing.
@ThanosReXXX I should send @NEStalgia posters of Audrey that are stills from various Nintendo Treehouse sessions and IGN videos, complete with a couple of masks and a custom Audrey Funko Pop. Then there will be the printed door mat with the Audrey head Photoshopped onto one of the Great Fairies from Ocarina of Time....
The haunted house stuff is what I call my seasonal "job". It's more of a volunteer thing, but I do get paid at the end of the season based on how many extras I helped with. Besides the Friday and Saturday evenings that I spend working in it, I also help with a lot of the parades and other events when I'm available.
It eats up a lot of my October free time, but I thoroughly enjoy it. Not only is it a nice break from the norm where you can reap your own secret joy at other peoples' expense (We do follow rules, however), but I genuinely enjoy entertaining people as a different Tyranexx persona. Plus, a lot of the other cast members are decent, fun, zany people. Throw in the free meal on nights we're open (not usually the healthiest, but I make do by sometimes eating my own veggies beforehand if there aren't any on the menu), and I have very little to complain about.
@NEStalgia I had no problems at all with Audrey this year. She wasn't my favorite person when she worked for IGN, but I've also never disliked her. Her bubbliness is a decent personality trait IMO, but I don't know how I'd handle that IRL as her nature seems the direct opposite of my own in some aspects.
It's just as I suspected with Camilla then: she goes even more off the deep end! XD
I've also noticed issues with email notifications. I didn't even know I had any until late this morning when I briefly checked the main site. I'm neck-deep and trying to dig into a new code base at work right now, so I've been missing more stuff this week.
@bimmy-lee Ah, thanks for tagging me on that. I suspect this news is at least partially why I'm playing catch-up in the thread right now. I'm sad to see Anti leave. I may not have agreed with him on everything including some of the more extreme ends of his tastes, but he has plenty of high points with that same personality as well. I'll miss his enthusiasm and general quirkiness.
I don't have IG as I promised myself I wouldn't get more involved with social media, but it's nice to know that channel of communication still exists if needed. Let him know I'll miss him and his art. I'm not majorly into the chibi six-pack guys, but I find some of his other pieces quite enjoyable.
Edit: Whew! Finally caught up. Took a little while. XD
More on Anti (not @ anyone in particular after the break): I do hope he returns eventually and uses his time for some self-improvement. IMO most people have character flaws that they need to work on. I'm no different on that aspect.
On the other hand, some time away could also deter those who intentionally troll the guy into some discussions. While he needs to learn not to take the bait (Which I also know can be quite difficult), others were dangling that bait to begin with. Or those people will move on with their existence elsewhere.
...And nobody else has noticed Anti's true name before now? O.o Maybe I am more observant than I thought....
Sorry if some of the above is a bit incoherent and slpppy. It's almost 10 PM here, and I've had a long day.
@bimmy-lee dude.. It's perfection. It's possibly my favorite game on Switch next to botw. As for GB, I'm super excited. I was a big gb fan as a kid. Had a little proton pack toy, watched the movies ( and cartoon) religiously, and used to demand the cereal, yes the cereal 😂. And who could forget, just how good some ecto cooler was too.
@NintendoByNature Yeah I like it a lot too. I’m actually really happy I played Link to the Past again before this game. In some ways LA feels like a miniaturized reimagining of Lttp, but I like that. I was able to get a lay of the land quickly and know where I could or couldn’t go much more easily. I also like way items are more necessary in the dungeons, as apposed to the key item in Lttp’s dungeons barely being utilized.
The only thing I wish they would have added is one more dungeon that makes use of the mirror shield. The mirror shield is my favorite item in Zelda games and I loved the light puzzles in Wind Waker and Ocarina of Time. It probably wasn’t possible given the hardware limitations of the GB, but it could have worked brilliantly here.
Okay, catching up on the discussion I started yesterday. I didn't expect something this mundane to kick off this well but I have zero complaints. XD Small confession, I've been lurking around the chit-chat thread every now and then for weeks to see if I can join any conversations and didn't have anything notable to contribute either, so I'm quite happy to see this.
@NEStalgia I'm already used to people thinking I've lost it when it comes to me enjoying cold weather so I'll take it. XD I guess seeing someone run around in a t-shirt or a mere shirt and no jacket at -15° C/5° F is a bit much for most people (but apparently lying in the sun at 35° C/95° F is fine and doesn't warrant bothering strangers. Hrmph!).
I do agree on people who yearn for winter and snow often being enamoured with the idea of it as @ThanosReXXX said. It rarely comes as that surprise "gentle Christmas snowfall" and while you may be able to watch the magic happen on a cosy evening you'll still have to get out and go to work in these conditions later. It's either muddy slush or black ice and people slipping and breaking their bones or crashing their car. Very romantic that, yes. Also, around 0° C/32° F is where it tends to be dangerous over here because it often means rain/humidity during daytime, frost at night, resulting in horrible conditions in the morning.
@bimmy-lee Aww, do you think you could take a picture of those caterpillars if they're still around and it's no trouble? I love bugs and caterpillars in particular. Speaking of nature preparing for winter, our local birds and red squirrels are starting to visit our garden to empty those feeders which is always a nice sight.

@NotTelevision yea they do a great job of utilizing the items. I just got the mirror shield forgot what it's really used for if anything. But that eagles tower dungeon takes a while to get your bearings down. That one always takes me a while no matter how many times I've done it. @KarateLuigi oddly enough one of them asked me this morning what I'm going to be for Halloween and I said I'm not sure, to which they replied, a zombie? So yea i called it lol. A zombie it is haha.
@NintendoByNature Yeah I know that’s a controversial one because it’s a pain to navigate, but I love it. I think it took me about 3 hours and lots of trial and error, but it was very rewarding because of the amount of planning involved. Good stuff.
@Tyranexx LOL that would be terrifying yet somehow awesome! yeah, this year she really toned it down and became "normal" - which I suspect has something to do with her not being there last year at all. Could be a coincidence and she was unavailable but after her antics the year before I suspect she had a good sitting down, told she's not going the next year, and told she's never going again until she behaves.
It isn't the "bubbliness" it's the "bubbliness" while while casually mentioning murder...frequently... that was more concerning
@KarateLuigi Haha at least you're note one of those "moar snow!" people I could take the cold a little better if there was no such thing as snow and ice. But only to a point. Once you get to a point that your daily life is fully interfered with, can't run the water because you need to continuously run so it doesn't freeze, running waaay too many space heaters, etc, etc..... Worse, for days (or weeks) on end....yeah, it can still die in a hole Especially when you're worn out from all kinds of workarounds like that and the people that just pay for perfection are like "what's wrong with you, you should be more energetic!" Actually they can die in the hole too....
I don't like heat waves either...it's just if I had to pick the frustration/drain of a heatwave of the serious mechanical problems of deep cold where you can't even reliably get somewhere to deal with a crisis, I'd pick the heatwave any time.
Random comment, considering how I've been increasingly active in "what are you playing this weekend" threads I hope no one expects me to fill Anti-Matter's shoes while he's gone. I do play some girly games and mostly prefer my console games to be family-friendly but that's the only vague similarities I can think of.
@NEStalgia Never, if I could I'd take all the snow and ice and chuck it at people who want that stuff. Granted, making snowmen can be fun if you have someone who'd tag along (made a life-sized Snow-Wario once who sat in front of the living room window, peeking into the room while picking his nose, that was awesome), but that doesn't justify all the issues these weather conditions bring.
While I love freezing temperatures myself I can't say I didn't understand your struggles or why people would hate them in general. XD And the "You should be more energetic!" speaks to me albeit for summer. I start dying in May and it only gets worse from there while everyone tells you how great summer is and how everyone's more active... plus you can do things to shield yourself from cold whereas it's trickier for heat (working with audio + using a fan is not feasible for starters and society is very picky about which clothes you're allowed to ditch).
