@Eel Ooh, I like it! I love the scribble coloring and the colors I’m seeing with the fire. I see a bit of purple mixed in with the red and some of the orange too. It looks really nice, and I also like how you shaded the wood with black and also mixed in green and red, since it makes it look brown. Coincidentally, in a recent drawing I made, I also combined green and red to get the color brown since I didn’t have a brown pen. I love the colors and affects you get from mixing pen colors together.
@Pastellioli thanks! 😃 I was a little worried the green and red pens wouldn’t mix well but I think it ended up working fine. Even the little bits of unmixed green and red don’t look too out of place I think 🤔
@Eel Yeah, when I was trying to mix the red and green pens in my drawing, I also was a bit nervous over the result, because I recall searching up what colors made brown and tried to apply that to my pen art, but I was also worried it was going to look off, since sometimes color mixing works better with some other materials (like acrylic paint, but I donated all of my unused paints) but it worked well in pen! The brown turned out reddish but I liked it anyway. Again, I really like the drawing you made and how you used the colors. I am a huge fan of colorful artwork.
I drew this when I was 7 or so. I used to have it on my wall. It was finally found again few years ago. My mom had stored it a bit too well since no one remembered where it was.
The quality varies a lot. There's a mix of pen, pencils and crayons. Some are barely visible. Couple aren't even drawn by me. I had really hard time with some so I asked my family if they could draw them for me. Goldeen is the clearest example of this, drawn by my sister.
Overall, I think I did good. I'd say they are all recognizable. I can even tell the picture I used as reference for some of them. Some are really funny, my favorite is Lickitung.
I think I finished another poster when Gen 2 came out (though to be fair, it was already out in most parts of the world, I just didn't know it yet). I also started drawing Gen 3 Pokémon but didn't get far with that one. It would be interesting to see how this would look if I drew it now but that's a lot of work, especially for someone who barely draws nowadays. I wish I still had the passion I had back then.
I used to use crayons a lot when I was smaller but it was usually lower quality ones rather than a big brand like Crayola. I did buy a pack of Crayola crayons a few months ago for fun and made a drawing with it and I found it was really good for sketching rough drafts for oil pastel drawings, but I donated the crayons because they were sitting around.
It’s a coincidence you found some old art recently, because yesterday I found a lot of my old video game fanarts and looked through them. Looking through old art is fun.
@Zuljaras I forgot to comment, but your painting looks really nice. The lighting is amazing and I love the bright purple in the background. I find that I’m pretty bad with lighting when I draw.
@Zuljaras Drowzee is kind of freaky in general so I think it fits.
@Eel You got me. I hadn't seen the movie so I didn't even know Mew existed. I'm not sure if the movie was even out yet. It probably took fair bit longer since they had to dub it in Finnish. I first saw it when I borrowed the VHS from my cousin.
@Pastellioli The crayons we had were really bad and that made me assume that they are just bad in general. Later I just stopped coloring altogether and I've kept the sketch look ever since. I kind of want to try coloring again at some point. I like how you handle colors.
Thank you all. I'm glad my old drawings brought you some joy.
@Late Crayons are really nice, but unfortunately most crayons I’ve come across are dry and low quality. I hear about how some poor quality art supplies can unfortunately discourage some people from drawing. Crayola is the best with crayons and they are super nice to use. Their other materials like colored pencils and oil pastels are awesome too, and they are at a really good price too.
I think you’d have fun coloring again! Also, thank you. I really like drawing stuff that is colorful

If you’re curious, the character in my PFP is Toothy from Happy Tree Friends.
I drew this just as a quick little side project, started yesterday finished today. All done with watercolor pens inside of Krita. Each flower is hand drawn, 388 in total.
