I'd like to post my final E3 predictions now, but another equivalent to the Hyrule Warriors for 3DS announcement could happen so I'll post my predictions for the Smash Direct.

  • Another update is announced for both versions
  • Tournament Mode for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • More DLC Mii costumes revealed (including Inklings, Shantae, and Gilgamesh from The Tower of Druaga)
  • More Masterpieces added to Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • Ms. Pac-Man, Classic Sonic, and Dry Bowser skins for Pac-Man, Sonic, and Bowser as DLC
  • Youtube feature added to Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • New features are added to the Stage Builder
  • Ryu's Smash trailer
  • Roy's Smash trailer
  • Fourside as a DLC stage for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • Street Fighter themed stage as a DLC stage for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • Dream Land stage from the original Super Smash Bros. as a DLC stage for both Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
  • A Gamecube controller adapter for 3DS allowing you to play Super Smash Bros. for 3DS with a Gamecube controller
  • A release date for the Nintendo 3DS NFC reader

TuVictus

You think a 3DS gamecube adapter is plausible?

Some of them I highly doubt, like the Gamecube adaptor for the 3DS, but other than that, this list is actually plausible. I'd actually be mroe willign to get costumes of characters that I can actually use online as opposed to Miis, but even then it'd probably just be the ones I REALLY want (for example, if they make a Mr. L costume for Luigi, I'm gonna jump at that).

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

Ralizah

I'm not much into predictions, but I wouldn't be surprised if another New 3DS exclusive was announced.

Question: How many people who have decided against getting a New 3DS would get one if it got an exclusive Metroid game?

Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

TuVictus

I'd be really really annoyed by it, but I would eventually get an N3DS for it. I'm a bad consumer.

I don't think it will get a new Metroid, but I do think it may get a port of the OG Metroid Prime. Nintendo will want to show of the c stick

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

All of these seem likely except for a GameCube adapter for the 3DS (eww).

Currently playing: Super Mario Maker, Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes
Amiibo Collection: Link (SSB4), Luigi (SSB4), Pac-Man(SSB4), Mega Man (SSB4)
Most Anticipated Game: FNAF World

It's only not exciting for those who have both a Wii U and 3DS.

No, it's not exciting for anyone. Because those games are already out there and if people wanted them, they could go buy them. And Nintendo is going to want to keep most of these games on Wii U to help it sell, giving the 3DS so many Wii U ports reduces what little incentive gamers have left to buy one.

Plus, it's such a waste of talent when they could be making entirely new games for 3DS and Wii U instead. There are still plenty of IPs that we haven't seen yet this gen, and entire gameplay styles that haven't been done yet (I'm still waiting on my collectathon game, Nintendo). It would be more worth their while to work on new games that do things that haven't been done before this gen than wallow in the same games over and over.

Grumblevolcano wrote:

I think the "things you never even thought of wanting" refers to 3DS ports of Wii U games and vice versa if Hyrule Warriors 3DS is just a port.

Usually when they use that phrase, it means it's an entirely new idea for a playstyle that no one really expected would happen, like Splatoon was. Not lame ports of existing games.

I don't mind a few ports, Hyrule Warriors makes sense because Zelda U is taking so long, and Captain Toad is a new spinoff that hasn't been done before, but this is way overboard. Nintendo needs a healthy amount of new games in this lineup.

Grumblevolcano wrote:

Also I think the major backlash from Sticker Star and Other M throws out the opportunity of new Paper Mario and Metroid.

No it doesn't. If they simply undo what they did in those games, then no more backlash.

My Predictions

Wii U

  • Super Mario (Super Mario 64-esque 3D platformer)
  • Super Mario Bros.: Greatest Hits: Wii U Edition (consists of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario World, Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, and Luigi's Mansion plus bonus content)
  • Mario Maker
  • Star Fox HD
  • Metroid (Prime-esque title)
  • Splatoon DLC
  • Hyrule Warriors DLC
  • SSB for Wii U DLC
  • Mario Kart 8 DLC
  • Animal Crossing HD
  • Paper Mario HD
  • The Legend of Zelda HD update (no trailer, rather screens, progress report, and plans)
eShop plans (new downloadable exclusives, new Virtual Console platform Nintendo GameCube, cross-platform purchase deals between Wii U and 3DS)

3DS

  • Super Mario Bros.: 30th Anniversary Compilation: 3DS Edition (consists of Super Mario Land, Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins, Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario vs. Donkey Kong, and New Super Mario Bros. plus bonus content)
  • Hyrule Warriors 3DS
  • Kirby (spin-off title)
  • Diddy Kong Racing 3DS (sequel to N64 original with new cast)
  • SSB for 3DS DLC
  • New IP
  • eShop plans (new downloadable titles, introduction of Virtual Console platforms GBA, SNES, and DS on the 3DS eShop, and cross-platform purchase deals between 3DS and Wii U)

Misc.

  • Nintendo theme park attractions
  • New rewards program
  • Mobile game

Also, I predict Nintendo and Sega shall renew their partnership. "Sonic II" is actually Sonic: Mach II, a non-canon title being developed by some third-party company, whomever that might be, and Sonic Anniversary is a canon title set to be released next year. I'm not sure whether that'll be something like Sonic Generations, or something new altogether. Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice, Sonic: Mach II, and Mario & Sonic 2016 will kick off the deal.

I forgot to add Fire Emblem: If (forgot this one because I'm not much of a Fire Emblem fan) and Pokemon Z. Also, I think since Sonic: Mach II is not being developed by Sonic Team, it shall be developed by Dimps. And, yes, an indie reel, although this kind of fits into the eShop category. (Nintendo is trying to be more indie-friendly.) Finally, I think that, in the SMB 30th Anniversary Compilation for 3DS, New Super Mario Bros. should instead be Super Mario Bros. Deluxe. Just makes more sense.

So, we don't know what Camelot has been doing since Mario Golf: World Tour last year. I think there is a good chance we hear from them this E3.

My guess is that they are either working on Mario Super Sluggers U or Golden Sun 3DS.

Kuju Entertainment is also a common collaborator with Nintendo, but they've most worked on Art Academy as of late.
