Unless Nintendo has something truly amazing in store for the Direct, Sony won E3. The Last Guardian, FF7, Enslaved 2 aka Horizon... That's gonna be freaking TOUGH to beat!

Not that tough to beat when all of those games aren't coming anytime soon. People seem to be forgetting this was sleight of hand on sonys part showing alot of stuff but the majority of it is late 2016 and 2017, their first party line up is pretty sparse this year and early next year on the AAA front.

Horizon maybe my game of the show but I can't get excited by a FFVII remake by Nomura when Square seems incompentn and delay heaven these days. The Last Guardian still looks great despite being a bit unpolished byntofays standards. Should be a nice refresher for us, to play a game with PS2 senseabilites.

I think everyone should be excited for Shenmue III, even if you're not interested in the game and don't plan to buy it. This is a series that abruptly ended on a cliffhanger 14 years ago and nobody had any confidence that the story would ever be finished. It's also a big deal because this is the first time we're seeing a sequel to AAA games get crowdfunded. Tremendous costs and licensing complications have proven no barrier to this game getting made.

It sets precedent. What's next?

So pretty much like Fire Emblem in the west then? The good ending of FE7 ends on a cliffhanger which leads into the Japan exclusive Binding Blade (FE6).

Fire Emblem is not a dead IP owned by a company that doesn't want it anymore. There is a game out this week in Japan.

No but before Sunday when Mother 1 (Earthbound Beginnings) was announced for the west it seemed there would be absolutely no chance of the west getting Binding Blade which is similar to the ditching of Shenmue.

Am I the only one who doesn't care for Live Demos on stage?

At least they guarantee gameplay. Usually heavily scripted, but still better than a CGI trailer.

Eh CG trailer look cool, I like when they just show a scripted demo like Horizon and Tomb Raider where its a dude talking over a pre-recorded gameplay demo.

Typically at the conference itself CG or a gameplay montage is good enough, for me as I'll look up gameplay from the show floor myself.

At least Horizon showed gameplay. I now know how the game looks and have an idea of what the gameplay will be like. A game like ReCore for example, looked cool, but that was just a CGI trailer, the gameplay could be completely different for all we know. Anyway, I just prefer actual gameplay over CGI trailers.

The only live demos I'm not keen on are the co-op ones, since when is voice chat actually productive? Those demos are not a realistic interpretation of voice chat, especially at the betrayal part of The Division's demo.

You're comparing three different things.

1) A game that was fully translated, but never released.
2) A game that was neither translated nor released.
3) A game that was never made at all.

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Okay, now that I'm seeing more and more people's reactions to Sony's E3, I got more things to say. Sony's E3 wasn't terrible at all. I enjoyed it BUT I do have to agree with the people who are saying "Sony pulled a Please Be Excited for 2016" route. These guys didn't talk about Persona 5 or Until Dawn at all. No tease for God of War 4 either. No tease for Gran Tourismo 7. As far as I know... FF 7 remake and No Man's Sky are just timed exclusives.

NOW ABOUT THIS SHENMUE FIASCO... This is purely freaking bizarre! I just have to agree with the people who are saying that if Microsoft or Nintendo had talked about a freaking Kickstarter for Shenmue 3 and begged fans to pay some money at their conference... they would be getting slammed and slapped! But Sony does it and everything is just dandy?! If Microsoft or Nintendo had done that... you would be so many angry articles talking about how pathetic they are for even showing that!

The double standards!!! Now don't get me wrong! I really liked Sony's conference! It was hype and fun!

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

Dude... it's Shenmue III, the game that gave people one of the longest cases of blue balls ever recorded.

ABSOLUTELY NOBODY thought Shenmue III would ever happen.

I'm throwing in an awkward guess for the Digital Event. I think we'll see Guitar Hero Live with some kind of special Wii U/3DS connectivity like with Roadie mode from some of the older games on Wii.

Wait for it: Mother 3 localisation KickStarter announced by Nintendo.

No, seriously. The idea of a multi-billion company begging its fans for money on KickStarter put me off as well. Now I'm not familiar with the Shenmue franchise, nor do I really care. It's great for the fans, but I don't think that should've been in an E3 show.

I think Sega is up for sale. I'm sure Nintendo could buy Sega and Atlus for a really cheap price if it wanted.

Atlus and Nintendo definitely seem to have a great relationship. Atlus has put numerous games on 3DS, and they are working on Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem. I would kill for a sequel or port of Catherine for Wii U.

The Last Guardian did not look that good in my opinion. I am not a fan of ha vng to interact with clunky AI throughout a game. It gets dull and repetitive. Maybe I am alone in that.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Agreed. If Microsoft or Nintendo had done that... you would be seeing people saying, "REALLY?!"

As much as I'm excited for The Last Guardian, FF7 remake, and Shenmue 3, I must say that one thing that I liked was the new IPs shown yesterday. All four companies showed at least one new IP that actually looked somewhat original. ReCore and Sea of Thieves from Microsoft, Unravel from EA, For Honor from Ubisoft, and Horizon Zero Dawn from Sony.

Sony? Hype? Development hell, a remake and a game they can't be bothered funding themselves? The kids have gone crazy!

ReCore and Horizon looked like such good games....I'm sorta jealous they are first party.

Playing: Wargroove on Switch and Fire Emblem on GBA

Oh and one more thing... Please keep expectations in check for this Digital Event. I'm very excited and eager for it but I have to remind myself that everything can be very disappointing so remain cool and calm.

Yeah, me too. Hopefully Nintendo has something to show, too.
Unravel gave me a giant grin, and Horizon looks seriously great (and pop-in indicated that it was actually running on a PS4). I think we'll see some more of ReCore at Gamescom, since it has an early 2016 release date.
