Sony's conference dropped some solid bombshells, that's for sure. Seriously, Horizon: Zero Dawn, The Last Guardian, FF7's remake, Shenmue freakin' III...'s kickstarter. Well played, SCEA. Well played...
Next we got Nintendo and Square-Enix tomorrow. Can't freakin' wait.
I have a question. Why do people love the idea of a FF7 remake (or remakes in general) so much? I honestly don't see the pros to it, other than seeing an older classic in newer graphics. It seems like a waste to buy the remake if you already have the original, unless of course, they add more to it. Is it because of the nostalgic feeling the game carries?
FFVII is ugly beyond belief now. Plus many other common problems and complaints that plaque PS1 games in general. If anything, it's one of the games that definitely needed the remake.

Because the original game didn't age well. Blocky characters, blurry backgrounds, poor English translation. Also it's to bring the game to a new audience who have never played it before.
I think I'm going to get a ps4 now. With that robot hunting game, uncharted (a series I've always wanted to play), kingdom hearts, BATTLEFRONT, and the last guardian.

I don't really understand remaking games from 6th gen on, as honestly those games still play fine today. The textures just look a little muddy.
But the PS1 has to have some of the ugliest games ever created. Not by intention, but the number of polygons it could handle was super limited, and without a vibrant color palette like the n64 had, it couldn't compensate for them.
So I genuinely see a point to a remake.

Some unorganized thoughts on the rest of E3 Day Zero's conferences;
EA: I love how EA stated that they had three original IPs to show and ended up only showing an indie game that really isn't developed by any of their core studios. Anyways, everything except Mirror's Edge Catalyst and Unraveled looked dumb, generic, or both. And Twitch crapped out right before Battlefront 3 was shown, so I have no opinion on that.
Ubisoft: I have a feeling that this will be one of the better conferences of this year's E3. Yeah, there were some dumb moments, but everything was high-energy, went by quickly, and seemed to satisfy its own niche. I mean, I'm pretty excited for Trackmania Turbo, but I doubt a lot of other people are. I imagine my case is similar for others, and I would argue that's a legitimate way to do an E3 conference.
Sony: Welp, Sony screwed up a lot of E3 bingo cards. The Last Guardian, a Final Fantasy 7 remake, and Shenmue III were all shown/announced during their conference. What's more amazing is that the conference still felt aimless. Okay, putting The Last Guardian front and center makes sense, but the placement of everything else felt like it was decided by a random number generator. You know what should follow Street Fighter V? No Man's Sky. How about Firewatch? A Destiny expansion. And Shenmue III? Obviously it has to be the Playstation exclusive Scarecrow missions for Batman: Arkham Knight. I feel like I could have organized the list of reveals and trailers better than whoever actually decided. Ignoring the structure of the conference, it was alright. The reveals were really nice and what was shown looked good, even if it mostly felt like Sony was looking for any an every attempt to rub their exclusivity deals in Microsoft's face.

I understand your skepticism. I am, too... sorta. But did you know that Siliconera was the website that randomly posted about the FF 7 remake first? It didn't have any sources but said an anonymous source told them. Alot of people didn't believe them but it came true.... HINT HINT
Yeah, no. NeoGAF has a phrase for people who say stuff with no source. It's called "Tales From My Ass."
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
I'm really starting to hope that Yoshi's Woolly World does NOT appear in the Digital Event. Nintendo has shown so much of that game. More of it at the event would just be a waste.

@Megumi The Nintendo Digital Event starts at 12:00pm EST (remember; 12:00pm is noon), which means that it starts at 9:00am PST. I can't tell you the start time of the event in other time zones off of the top of my head, but there are a bunch of clocks on the internet to help you with conversion.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Just woke up early to catch the Sony conference. Mind blown! I was already over the moon with The Last Guardian, but Shenmue 3. I never thought it would happen. Not ashamed to admit I got a little emotional! Amazing E3 so far and can't wait to see what Nintendo has. I really hope they've got some new IP like the others.
I'm now 100% sold on the XB1 and I'll get to experience the best Final Fantasy for the first time in what will be it's best version (yay me for missing out on lots of classic games when I was a kid? ).
The reveals so far have only made me anticipate Nintendo's digital event more. Things like the Mother 1 localization, Ryu in Smash, and Blast Ball is what I expected but if they already got those out the way (in addition to the things announced in that mini Direct) then what could they possibly have to show that they needed to trim all that fat for? They either really screwed the pooch or they're really confident in what they have left to show.
