Tepig for Black, Oshawott for White.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Snivy. Usually I start with Fire-type starter but this time I'm gonna try Grass-type.
Pre-ordered White over week ago and was expecting it to come on Friday. Of course it didn't come and now I have to wait till Monday ;(

Snivy because I'm not a big fan of the other grass types in the game so, until after the Elite Four, Snivy will serve as a member on my team as a grass type.

OKay for having played the game for 8 hours, I confirm : do NOT take Snivy. He sucks big time, as his moves are weak as hell, and after seeing Oshawott's first evolution, you should maybe take him (though don't let him evolve further, he's ugly after).

The real question is "how can you not choose Tepig?".

I don't go with the fire starters because Fire Emblem is my favorite game series, I go with Fire because it's all about love. When you boys become men, you'll understand.

Now we`re talking!

Get your eyes checked. Oshawott and Dewott are ugly, while Samurott looks awesome.

Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.

Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.

There all cool. I chose Snivy on my Black Version and when I get white in a few days I choose one of the other two.

I'm torn, this is the first time there hasn't been a clear selection for me.

I wish the names were as cute as the Pokemon. I usually go with fire but I can't stand the little guys' name, and I don't like to rename my Pokemon.

Oshawott sounds like he's named after a Canadian territory, and I couldn't live with that. So I might have to go with Snivy, despite not liking grass type Pokemon...

This might be the first Pokemon game where I just ditch my starter a.s.a.p. >.>

If you're looking for a HUGE challenge, pick Snivy. I didn't realise that the Fire guy was the strongest of all the brothers, nor that there were more Grass types than Fire or Water types.
It's wierd because I ALWAYS choose the water type...

Thinking of picking this one up when I get paid here in a few days. Since this will be the first Pokemon game I will play since Pokemon Red I will probably go with Snivy since hes a grass pokemon and thats what I went with in Pokemon Red good ol Bulbasaur. Although I am tempted to go with the Fire one Tepid since I think he looks the best.

Now is this like Pokeman Red where chosing the Grass Pokeman will make the game easier, the Water is the middle ground and the Fire one will make it a bit harder?

@Alex_Says: I agree the names for the 3 starter Pokemon are kinda aweful I guess they are just running out of names. Although it wouldnt be a surprise lol.

Not at all. Snivy (Grass) is the hard one, this time.

Nah, there's never a 'hard' one, the games are easy as pie. Just grind some, or get that monkey starter and you're fine.

I think that last comment was referring to the IGN article. The way the gym types are set up, if you pick Snivy, you'll be at a disadvantage. So in that sense, choosing Snivy will be "harder" for you.

If you pick Tepig, you'll have the type advantage during that tender beginning part of the game, making it easy.

I'm picking Snivy.
