When I first saw the starters I was saying I would definitely choose Tepig. Snivy would be my second. I really didn't like Oshawott at all. But now that I see the evolutions, I think Tepig would be the worst choice, Snivy still second, and now I really really love Oshawott. I think after I saw the first 2 Black/White anime episodes, I really started to fall in love with Oshawott. Its just so awesome in the show! So that will be my choice. I am making a drastic decision though....I'm giving my Oshawott an Everstone and keeping it an Oshawott forever. I don't like Dewott or Samurott. My Oshawott will be cute and stage 1 forever!!!!!!
I agree. A while ago I really fell in love with Oshawott. He's just adorable and now the show makes him even cooler. I love his voice in the show. I also am considering not letting him evolve (but his stats will be horrible ). But why use the Everstone? That's just a waste of a held item. You can stop him from evolving manually.

@tristenj1992: Superior Movepool is just fine, having all around Stats, and High speed will help make up for it. And knowing moves like Dragon Tail, Leaf Blade and Swaord Dance, will make it a fast sweeper.

trust me on this: go with fire. he may not be the cutest, but he works the best in this game. just trust me on this one, guys. emboar may not be the cutest creature in the deck, but he gets the job done, allowing you to concentrate on getting the cuties later on...
Snivy, though I'm going to wait until a third version is released. I usually just go with whichever one I think looks cutest - it usually ends up being grass or fire. I like to be sort of surprised with how the evolutions turn out, so I don't really think about that when I choose, though I'll eventually trade for all three.

Eventually I'll have all 3 but when I get a Snivy, it shall be know as Solid Snivy and will hold a Focus Band.
Tepig (Boss)'s the least artistically ugly for me so I'll be settling for that. Don't like any of this generation's starters when they've been easy choices for me before: Charmander; Cyndaquil; Mudkip; Turtwig.
The real question is "how can you not choose Tepig?". I don't go with the fire starters because Fire Emblem is my favorite game series, I go with Fire because it's all about love. When you boys become men, you'll understand.

As a physical sweeper, you've got Leaf Blade and Swords Dance / Coil and then basically nothing but Dragon Tail and Aerial Ace. With TMs now reusable, that's really bad, and it's special movepool is even worse. I'm going to wait for a Dream World Snivy so I can use its Dream World ability, Contrary, to have a Leaf Storm attack that raises my special attack two stages instead of lowering it.
