Topic: YouTube App is Here! Is it Awful or Okay?

On the topic of playing long videos, I was able to watch a 40-minute double episode without it crashing even once. the crashing tends to happen whenever there's user input going on.

TBH I haven't had any issues with the app whatsoever and I think it's quite nice.

Um, yeah... HQ is definitely not working for me... huh. The only thing I can think to do now is delete/redownload it and see if that works... otherwise I give up on this thing.

Don't use Youtube on the 3DS... Problem solved

I haven't had any problem, I downloaded it and started watching videos right away, the first one that I watched was a very funny one called how to fight a baby.

OK so I deleted and redownloaded it, and now HQ works. So everything works now; I just still can't switch between Google+ pages...

@Gioku I'll try the same, maybe thats why mine crashes every 2-3 minutes. I know they all crash, but mine appears to be crashing more than usual.

-Can't log in to a YouTube account that isn't connected to G+
-Caption color customization is screwy

It works fine for me. I used it to check something out on Animal Crossing and then hopped back into the game. I don't think that it looks that bad.

The video quality is OK, but the interface is a little finicky and, although it has not yet happened to me, it apparently has issues with crashing. The biggest problem for me, though, is that I can't switch between Google+ pages and thus cannot use my main account. But I'll still use this app when my 3DS is the only device I have access to (which is the case sometimes).

I gave it 2 out of 5 stars as well. After seeing how great the Pokemon episodes look and sound while streaming them, there's really no excuse for this app to have such poor video/audio quality. Then there's the crashes, various bugs, laggy interaction and no feedback in the form of highlighted buttons or clicking sounds when pressed. It just feels too undercooked to deserve a higher rating.

If the app couldn't play videos at all, then I would give it a 1/5, but because it can occasionally play videos, I felt generous and gave it a 2.

Now if an update came that fixed all of the problems, then yes, I would give it a higher rating.

I don't know what score give.... in the 20 minutes I used I faced lots of problem, more than you'd expect from someone who ONLY used 20 minutes....

All I know is that giving it a high score is not gonna give Google any incentive to fix and improve the app. It's really kind of a shame that so many people gave it 5 out of 5 stars considering how incredibly flawed it is.

Yeah I know I was really surprised... last time I looked over 600 people gave it five stars, a bit less gave it four, and 61 people gave it one star... a bit less than that gave it two or three stars... none of the people who rated it five stars go to this site, apparently!

i dont understand why many people are disappotined with the app.
you can now watch youtube videos on your 3DS. what else were you expecting?

I haven't experienced any crashes, the video quality doesn't seem bad to me (about on par with game trailers on the eShop itself), and while a bit slow to react, it has never outright failed to read my imputs.

Youtube app has an update now

I updated the app, but I don't see any changes. Video quality is still very low, unfortunately.

One of the changes I seen was the drop down arrow so you can narrow your search results, there may be more changes :/
