@DefHalan I think it'll be how the others have explained it. Some families have entire alola forms (sandshrew) and some only Alolan evolutions (Marowak). Pikachu already made an appearance as its regular form in one of the trailers, so only Raichu will get the Alolan form. I don't know how they'll evolve, as Alolan Vulpix raises some questions, only time will tell. However, I don't think that you'll be able to get the regular forms in Sun & Moon. If a Pokémon has an Alolan form, that will be the form you get in the game. If you want a regular Vulpix or Exeggutor, you need to trade one over from gen 1 or one of the other games (don't know if regular trading works with X&Y like it did between RBY and GSC). Now the real question is; if you trade over an Exeggcute and evolve it, will it turn into a regular Exeggutor or into an Alolan Exeggutor? Is the evolution dependent on the game it evolves in, or the game you caught the Pokémon in?
I think we just need to wait for the in-game explanation of Alola forms. It doesn't make sense that Marowak or Raichu would adapt to surroundings but Cubone and Pichu/Pikachu wouldn't. It does make sense that not all Raichu would have Alola form while Pikachu doesn't have an Alola form. But the in game explanation will be better and clear things up lol.
Also, I am not expecting Persian to have a Alola form now. They showed off Vulpix and Ninetales at the same time. They showed off Sandshrew and Sandslash at the same time. Why wouldn't they show off Meowth and Persian at the same time? Which makes these alola forms a lot more interesting to me. Alola Meowth would have more Dark type moves which could benefit the Normal type Persian in certain ways.
There have been a lot of pirate villians in the past. Team Aqua basically are pirates, some of them every talk piratey, and in the anime a few pirates make apparences, most rememorable is the manaphy movie.
The punks actually sound and look interesting, I always wondered what pokemon with our type of rap and hip-hop would be like since pokemon looks more quiet, maybe these guys are meant to symbolize the disturbance of peace from loud rap bands playing in the neighborhood.
Their dialogue doesn't sound too bad either, the introduction with the boss actually looked intimidating unlike gen 6 where he kinda just popped up, said hello, battled, rage quit like a kid who's rayquaza fainted, and then su- wow actually thats a dark description... I'll stop there
I just wonder what their plan is, the sun/moon legends and a punk band seem a little strange for them to try and control. Maybe these villians won't be world destroying villians like past ones, they just want to be annoying and the legends are just that, legends. I wouldn't mind that to be honest.. sometimes they shove the importance of legends and villian connection too much. It'd be ok if they're just punks, robbers, etc like team rocket, and they need put in line and turned in but only you can take them on.
@MegaBeedrill how can you talk about pirates in Pokemon and not mention the amazing ninja-cyber-pirates that are the new Team Plasma in the Gen 5 sequels??
Because they're as forgettable as the rest of Black 2/White 2? Also, they weren't pirates. Not even Sky Pirates. They were Kefka's leftovers that even the characters in-universe couldn't take seriously.
And Team Aqua is close, but only in the way they dressed. Otherwise, they were Poke-PETA's oceanic-branch, going on about protecting the world's oceans...that's not a pirate. A pirate does not protect the oceans. The oceans protect them from the local authorities, who are pursuing them after their latest raid.
At this point, I really am willing to settle with punk-pirates, so long as, at some point, they ride in on a Galleon shaped like a Wailord, with gunports manned by Octilleries and Remoraids.
The last few trailers have gotten me excited about Sun/Moon though I'm still not sure whether I'll buy at launch or post-launch.
There will be a limited-time-only downloadable legendary at launch, like there has been since Gen 5, I'm sure of it. Just in case you wanna factor that in...I know I always do...
I want to preorder for day 1 buy, but I don't know which version to preorder... I wouldnt mind so much post game but idk if Pokemon like lurantis would be version exclusive.

I've liked the punk idea since I first saw Team Skull, but that's a compelling paragraph for them to be punk pirates. XD Don't forget the underwater Sharpedo Torpedoes!
I also wouldn't mind if Team Skull was more of a criminal/troublemaking team like Team Rocket. The "evil/misunderstood team trying to hijack legendary Pokemon and use them to shape/remake the world in their image" concept is getting a little stale.
I probably won't get Sun/Moon until after they launch. I like both legendary Pokemon and while I prefer Solgaleo, I'm still waiting to see what the exclusives are for each game. Besides, I have more than enough games to play right now.
