I live in the Netherlands, so it's out in Europe too, and most probably in Japan as well. Wouldn't make sense to release a patch like this at different times everywhere.

And you can easily look up those glitches on Youtube.

Were DK Jungle and Koopa Cape glitches also patched?

it's been patched? how did they fix it? does it disconnect if you try it, did they put an extra section of fence up, or did they fix it so the Lakitu doesn't screw up and put you farther in the race?

i'm excited to play again now~

Lakitu doesn't screw up. You can download the patch from the eShop.
I gotta tell you, it's great to see people try the glitch and fail miserably doing so. XD
And no, only both Wuhu courses and Bowser Castle 1 got fixed, according to the patch description.

You could drive off the track near the lighthouse and you'd go near the start. It shaved only a few seconds but was still an exploit.

Yep, time trial still works for the glitches. It's just online that's been patched.

in all honesty i didn't mind that one so much because if they eff'd it up (and chances are they would), they kinda screwed themselves, lol :3

Thanks @Yosher, good to know the current records wont become unbeatable, as for online the eShop description says the patch will be required for online play only after May 16th, so at least for today many people could still play online without the patch and be able to glitch, while users with the patch would have to sit and see them win the race. Maybe I will try online until the 16th just to be safe.

I've only seen that glitch used online once and I was still ahead far enough for that player not to win anyway, so that glitch really isn't THAT bad. Plus it leaves you item-less, which could still screw you over.

Pretty sure the Australian eShop said the 15th.
Maybe it was just a typo or something.

Time to play some MK7, I want to laugh at these glitchers!

Was fun watching some people try the glitch now that it's broken. Raced the same track again with the some of the same peoples and had a proper race for a change. Nice! Side benefit is that now, thankfully, you don't end up playing Wuhu Mountain Loop every second race.

Now that it's been fixed though, I honestly wouldn't mind racing on that track a lot now. XD It's actually a fun track once again!

Why didn't Nintendo release a notification to update this game though? How are people supposed to know?

Well if people try to play online it stops them and tells them that they need to download the patch from the eShop first.

Also, for all we know there will be a notification... in a few months.

Oh really? Last night I tried to play online and it just didn't connect. Maybe that's because the update was released today I guess
