Well finally picked up this one today and I am enjoying it. I like the fact that they brought the coins back and the upgrades are great. Plus it also has my favorite MK course of all time Mario Circuit 2 from Super Mario Kart. Going to try and check out the online features this weekend.
Online didn't go so well, but there was again someone using the Maka Wuhu glitch. Oh, and I always get hit three times in a row in the last lap. Such annoying players were in that race, sheesh.

Of course, finding anyone in the biggest community, NL All Items, is hard enough without arranging to meet in advance, so all these other communities now seem kind of pointless.
@turtlelink The VR stands for Versus Ranking, the more you win the more VR you get. Im around 3400 VR. but if you keep on playing you'll get something special when you hit 10000 VR The numbers really just show how good you are (or how much you played) 0.o

@iamthezenmaster It should get better soon. Due to the fact that it was just Christmas, theres probably loads of people clogging up the servers, because I've been having problems recently too, but I never had them at the game's launch. It should have cleared up soon.
You guys might have already talked about this, but I'm not going to go through 142 pages to find it. Anyway, does anyone else have problems with online racing? Because, whenever I race online, I'm nearly seconds away from finishing, and it stops, and then I get a notice saying that "A communication error has occurred". If anyone has had this problem and figured it out, please tell me how you fixed it. Thanks.

How many people are you playing with? I only get that issue when I believe everyone except me has left the game.
Noob question: What's this VR thing I keep hearing about on the forums?
VR is earned when you win races, and lost when you get last. You start with 1,000 and win around 20 for getting first in a full/near-full room. You only lose VR if you get dead last (around 3 points) or rage-quit/disconnect (I think that's 30 points).
VR affects who you play with when you choose randoms. The more VR you have, the harder the opponents. Once you go over 2,000 VR you may race in 150CC and Mirror tracks online occasionally. I also found that as I got paired with higher VR foes, more and more glitched. I guess the lower VR newbs are less likely to glitch.

This. I've never understood how glitching to beat strangers in a game can possibly be fun. The whole point of the game is fun, right? It makes even less sense in games like Mario Kart, where VR means nothing (bar a single unlockable when you get a bazillion VR).
