I've had the M01D app for a few days now and made some original tunes with it. I'm not a great composer by any means, but check 'em out on my soundcloud page if you want: http://soundcloud.com/hale-bopp-4

Personally I prefered the second one. It sounded like something straight out of Beverly Hills Cop.

Both were very well made though. I look forward to hearing more.

I Like it!
Does the KORG M01D allow to export sound files directly (eg. as .wav or .mp3) or only midi files?

Thanks in advance!

I'm a bit dissapointed I can't export songs as is, but I'm familiar with the process, having used Rytmik. I just hope I can get the sound quality to be as clear as possible.

Oh thanks, you already answered my question! No export to files other than midi, if i understand correctly. To be honest: I'm a bit disappointed, too!

You can actually record your music onto the PC, you'll need a certain cable for the 3DS's headphone jack though. But yeah I figured out how to do that recently, used it to make a soundtrack from Dream Team. xD (Audacity rocks)
But yeah, I think the cable is called a 3.5mm male to male or something, one end goes to the 3DS, other to the PC, then you use Audacity (or whatever, but that one is the best for editing) to record.

Ok. So I can use a headphone jack to record straight to PC... Does soundcloud keep the midi files intact, or would I still need to record to the PC?

I dunno...never used the program, I just know that you can record 3DS audio directly to a PC.

If anyone is having trouble getting music from the DS to a computer, I recommend taking a look at this article from this very site!

Alright thanks. I was trying to find a program to be able to play the Midi files for what they were. I'll try and upload one I made a couple days ago, later.

The app is on my brother's 3DS... I already erased the song I failed to upload correctly in my earlier post, but this one is better, IMO, anyway.

Thanks a lot for the link!

Edit: But the quality loss due to DA and AD conversion is the price for this.

Thanks for the feedback guys. It's a fun little app, no doubt. Kinda priceless really for being able to sketch out ideas and then transfer the MIDI data over to my PC if/when I decide to get more serious.

I'll be uploading a file tommorow. I finally managed to download the Audacity program with the LAME mp3 converter and have the file waiting for me to upload tommorow.

My bro had to go to sleep and the PC is in his room.

Yeah, that's basically what I did and then used Audacity to record. Unfortunately, the soundcard built into my computer is crap, so that's why there's some background hiss in my tracks. Seems unavoidable at the moment. I'm currently saving up to get a more professional soundcard.

Is the hissing during like...silent parts? It does it to me too, I haven't tried yet but I think the "Silence Selection" would get rid of it.

EDIT: Just posted to see if the link actually worked... and it does. That's the second thing I made on there. It took me about 45 minutes. I hope you understand

EDIT: Also, disregard 0:48 and after. I was just trying to end the song, because this is a good sample size. IMO.

Yeah, that's when you can hear it most, but it's always there. Silencing hisses can be tricky and sometimes changes the way a song sounds. I'm not too concerned about it though, because once I get a better soundcard, it should no longer be an issue.

Did you try to Silence those parts on Audacity? Main reason I brought that up, lol...haven't tried it before. xD
