Topic: 3DS Resident Evil: Revelations

Does anyone who own RE:R already try out the gyro controls yet?
I love it in the demo version and I'll continue to use it in the full version tomorrow since I won't be getting the Circle Pad Pro.

I tried Gyro on the demo... I love it! It's like the portable version of the Wii's pointer control.
Hoping that future shooters use this control scheme.

Gyro is awesome if you want something similar to mouse aim or with the Wiimote in RE4. I'm going to play the entire game with it on.

Just beat the campaign mod.
Now for raid mode. Anyone with me ?
Would be nice to play more than one round and then having to look for another player again.

Yes, I'm too scared to play alone. Its all dark and stuff.

I got the misspelled "Revelaitons" case!
Should I open it though? I want to play the game, but I know it could be worth a lot and opening it will decrease the value. Would it still be worth a pretty penny open one day?

All first shipments have the error so everyone who buys it is going to get it. It's not that special.

I got a headache now after playing it for hours with very strong 3D and gyro.

I'm not a big fan at all of RE, but I love this! The environments are awesome and the music is so atmospheric! It chills me to the bone. Nothing incredibly scary yet, but it is creepy.

@Donjwolf just saw a copy of the typo go for $61 on eBay, and it's only the first day! Seems decently special to some people!

Edit: Do you guys play more in 2D or 3D? I played pretty much in 2D. The 3D was uncomfortable with all the dark colors. Although certain areas and the scanner looked awesome in 3D!

People are stupid then. Who'd buy a game for more than it's worth over a silly misprint?

Because in a decade or two it will be really rare and worth a lot of money?

It is a good game but its annoying when it lags when I I am entering a big room. :/
I also get this black screen flicker sometimes. Is that normal? or should I be worried?

I don't think it will be worth a lot of money because of the misprint. Thousands of copies have been made but only sent to the US. I got mine yesterday and I have to say - its good, but I feel like it could be better, I just finished that part when you face all those infected things at once for the first time and it seems to be the highlight of tha game so far, I'm pretty sure it will get better. I'll finish it tomorrow hopefully. By the way add me you guys and we'll play some raid mode - i can't wait to check it out!!!!

I bought one of the original Trinity rulebooks (white wolf) back in 1997 that was in the deluxe case. The cover and every reference to the game was named "Aeon" but due to a legal battle between Aeon Flux and White Wolf the name had to be changed and everything reprinted. They offered people who had bought the early editions brand new copies with the corrected titles "Trinity" and even additional freebies as an incentive, the book store where I bought it even offered me a bit of extra cash more than what I paid for it... so I kept it thinking that it would be worth extra down the line. Sure for about a year or so after it printed it was worth a little more but after about two years there was no value in it whatso ever.
Turns out everybody else thought the same, thus killing any kind of future value in what should has been a rare item. Now it just sits on my shelf gathering dust. Point being, because of this mistake EVERYBODY is trying to get hold of a misprinted copy which means there is value in it today, but a flooded market would mean very little value in the future.

Well said Raptor, and yes it is true. The only real valuable stuff is when a typo would be made but only given to a few people. But when thousands get it, no value at all. The only way that I can see this actually becoming valuable is if it wins game of the year and that is not going to happen. I love resident evil, but it aint possible

The replacement sleeve should be labelled,

"PREVIOUSLY.... ON RESIDENT EVIL: REVELAITIONS* (sic)

I loved this quote from GameShark's review:

Often you hear people saying that the difference between the mobile and the handheld devices is the controls. But I disagree. Certain games are just fine with touch controls, and it's not difficult to imagine connecting a controller to a phone if necessary (there are already such tools). It's just not the core difference. To me, the difference is the dual screen and the 3D. You can't imagine either on widespread mobile phones - it just won't work. 3D works with dual screens, and it's too big for mobile phones. The clamshell design and the fact that it's not a phone allows this setup. So whatever one feels about his smartphone, the 3DS always has this advantage which makes playing on it a special experience.

I found out you could customize the intensity of the 3D today.
I set it to very strong. My god! It is amazing!!! I was breathless when I saw it. Absolutely beautiful. I love this game.

You mean the big doors with the steering wheel handles? It's a loading screen disguised as you opening the door. It's supposed to lag but at least you can use the time to reload or heal.

I beat the game today. All set for Raid mode now.

Beat the game too. Ending wants me wanting more though.

I would love for Capcom to make a standalone download of the "Lost in Nightmares" DLC but for the 3DS. I never got a 360 so Ive never had a chance to "revisit" the mansion, but the ending of Revelations made me want to visit the mansion in 3D.

Anybody surprised to see a product registration card included with this game? Did Nintendo localize it? I'm happy for the free coins!
