Well, my old 3ds has tons of scratches on the exterior ( and a few on the screens as well ), but when I traded it in for an XL, Gamestop still gave me full trade-in credit. Now my Red XL has a scratch too...
The way I'd look at it is that it's still completely functional, and the damage is not too noticeable. If you're planning on keeping the 3DS for a long time then it doesn't make much difference; by the time you'll probably want to sell it, it wont be worth too much anyway.
my 3DS was dropped once or twice but everytime it falls I manage to catch it before it hits the ground(except once) but the top screen has some nasty scratches(stupid pockets, you triggered a design flaw!!!!) oh well, as long it's still working and doesn't have deformations that hurt the hands it's all fine.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn
now working at IBM as helpdesk analyst my Backloggery
I did have a few scratches on my touchscreen but I then used screen protectors and I keep my 3DS in a case and I never take it outside and if at all I do, I put it in a case and then inside my bag because I know stuff like 3DS can really feel like a glass or something. As of now, Its doing just fine.
If you ask me, just save up some money and go and get it fixed. Its the best way.
i forgot to say i have a red bag with a small mario patch on it. looks so cool! got it from european nintendo club and i always put my 3ds in it when i take it outside.
