We knew that Sanrio goodies would be coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons in March, alongside the Sanrio amiibo cards, and eagle-eyed readers may have even been able to identify the furniture pictured on each card. But now we can see how that furniture looks in-game - and there is finally some froggy furniture. It may not be the Froggy Chair we all want, but it's still pretty darn cute.
The cards were originally used for Animal Crossing: New Leaf to unlock new furniture themed around some of Sanrio's most popular characters, like Hello Kitty, Keroppi, and My Melody, and Sanrio characters also appeared in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, albeit without the need of the cards.
With the addition of the Sanrio furniture, outfits, wallpapers, and carpets, you can now decorate your Animal Crossing home like a serial killer. Seriously, some of this stuff is cute, but when every single piece of furniture in your house has Pompompurin's face on it, we're going to start asking questions, ok?
The Sanrio amiibo cards will be coming to Target stores across the US from the 26th of March, costing $5.99 for all six cards. The set will come to Europe in March as well.
Check out this mini-gallery of some of the furniture highlights:
Sure, it's not THE Froggy Furniture, but you have to admit: you love it. We love it. Tell us how much you love it in the comments.

So the new 6 Sanrio themed villagers are back and could be a permanent villagers ?
<deleted>
Edit: pun has been broken (thru my own fault of not following rules, apologies)
Sanrio does fit perfectly with Animal Crossing - a game about cutesy animals and collecting merchandise collaborating with a company known for cutesy animal merchandise.
I'm honestly just glad Hello Kitty isn't a villager shudders with horror
Edit: Everything looks sick tho, don't get me wrong, especially froggo
So... where do I get these cards? Asking for a friend..
This gives hope for Felyne returning as part of a Monster Hunter Rise collab.
"Later time that is not yet known", but still march? https://twitter.com/NintendoUK/status/1354074263494520840?s=19
Great news, but this is yet another example of content that should have been included in Version 1.0 (especially as the cards had already long been out in the wild, albeit in extremely limited quantities).
@EarthboundBenjy : I wouldn't have minded if the Sanrio characters had become villagers (in addition to the ones on the cards) as they would indeed fit right in. Perhaps they could even have unique personality types or just slightly retooled versions of existing ones to establish a point of difference between the Sanrio characters and the regular Animal Crossing cast.
@ShoryukenKid : Some retailers will be restocking them in late March. They were previously extremely limited but it looks like they are finally getting a wider retail release.
In Australia, they were exclusive to the Nintendo ANZ eBay store, and they only had 300 packs (from memory). Pretty pathetic.
That was sooo click bait
For once I'm glad rugs can't be placed outside because otherwise we'd run across that bumhole rug everywhere probably.
The only way I could be interested in this would be if they put in characters from Aggeretsko, which it doesn't look like they have.
Whoa clickbait
@Pirate1 What you said does not change the fact that in Antarctica there are 21 million penguins and in Malta there are 502,653 inhabitants.
So if the penguins decide to invade Malta, each Maltese will have to fight 42 penguins.
Have already pre-ordered my pack!!
@GC-161 and now I know the question! Thank you!!
@Silly_G “In limited quantities” What? the cards had been out of print for years lmao; the only ones that were/are currently available are either hacked NFC chips or people that kept them hoarded for years to sell them at marked up prices but even then it’s rare to find them as they are nowadays. Just be happy that they’re coming back and stop being negative with the “they should have been in the game since the beginning” lmao like for who? The few hundred people that already owned the cards vs the millions that didn’t? It makes sense for them to be re-released at the same time as the cards officially being reprinted.
As well, technically there were Sanrio things in the game from the beginning. If you scan the card, you get posters. The villagers are a “new” addition.
@Anti-Matter only if you have their amiibos or are willing to trade
No Aggrestuko? Pity.
@alexybubble Nope for now it’s just for the returning AC villagers but maybe we’ll get something for her later on.
@OrangeSoda she doesn’t have an amiibo/isn’t from the original collab set.
No mention of Canada, eh? Just run it through Toys R Us, Target's presence in the Canadian market was very brief but we still have them
@SalvorHardin @Freddyfred I am still confused. I had to click twice.
The update I’ve been waiting for!!!
Now where did I put those cards...
Bumhole rugs. That is all.
Nice!!! I already own the cards! I'm totally inviting Chai to my island.
Hopefully there is a huge anniversary update that happens on March 18th! Exciting stuff!
@TheBigK I'm in Canada too, so I need to know where to get them 👀
Only to Target stores? Why? That's so obnoxious! Let me order them online, like everything else!
I love Sanrio Surprise! X3
@RupeeClock I'm hoping Wolf Link and Ganon come back
