Animal Crossing: New Leaf is getting an amiibo-style facelift later this year, and Nintendo has just revealed that a collaboration with Sanrio will see some of its most beloved characters appear in the game.

Scanning the new range of amiibo+ cards will grant access to items of furniture based on the Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kero Kero Keroppi, Cinnamoroll, Pom Pom Purin and Little Twin Stars.

The packs will contain two random Sanrio characters cards and one with a special seal. These packs go on sale in Japan on November 3rd for 300 yen a pop.

An Animal Crossing Direct broadcast has already been confirmed to air on the 2nd November. There's no word on whether or not this collaboration will extend to North America and Europe.
