Nintendo of America appears to have accidentally shared new information about Pokémon Sword and Shield ahead of schedule.
According to the Pokémon website Serebii.net, Nintendo of America published a tweet, confirming "once and for all" the stadiums found across the Galar region are in fact Gyms. While this may have already been evident based on the information provided in the recent Pokémon Direct, it's now reportedly been made official. Gym Leaders also appear to be referred to as Gym Masters in this region. Right now, it's not clear if this is a simple name change, or it means something else.
Not long after the tweet was posted, Nintendo of America then deleted it. Perhaps one of its social media ninjas jumped the gun or it was incorrect. Fortunately, Twitter user @mngzeno managed to grab a screenshot before it was removed:
What do you make of this? Are you looking forward to the new Pokémon games for Switch? Tell us down in the comments.

Hm...must've been wrong info.
I don't understand, was there anything in the tweet that revealed genuinely big info? Gyms were already confirmed in the Pokemon Direct if I remember correctly.
The only news I can spot is the fact that they said "Gym Master" instead of "Gym leader." Is that supposed to be some sort of shocking reveal? If it is, then that's sadly indicative of the level of change in the Pokemon franchise.
Someone probably just wasn't authorized to talk about it yet.
It was actually about a new character named Jim Masters
No warp maze and/or a series of trainer battles - it's a soccer/football/futból minigame!
There are gyms in a Pokemon game? Hold the front page 😲
Hardly leak of the century is it? I don't know why they'd even bother deleting it
@Gravitron that’s correct. He is the brother of Jim Leaders
I really don't think the Nintendo PR team that posts their daily Tweets knows any more about the game than we do. Probably just a mistake, and they didn't want to stir up rumours or confusion. Oh well, the Streisand Effect, by deleting it they only added fuel to the non-existing fire.
That's one thing, but can we finally get a dark gym this time?
Too late Nintendo, once you put something online it's not easy to completely erase it from existence as someone somewhere may had already archived it. Just rise up and confirm it.
I bet it's all about the term "Partner Pokemon".
@Tsurii Yeah it's like do whatever and everyone will be disappointed. Change a thing and it's not a mainline game, update only the graphics & region and it's the same old boring pokemon.
I would be fine with the game having gyms like we've seen in the past. But I'm guessing they'll be stadiums and you'll get a badge of some sort by winning. It would be kinda neat if those stadiums had some tournaments that always had random trainers with different pokemon. And if you managed to beat a tournament, only then you'd challenge the leader/master. And if you beat the that person then you would be the master of the stadium, and had to defend your status once in a while. You could be a master in all the stadiums at the same time but the catch would be that you'd only be able to use a certain type of pokemon in a stadium. Let's say you beat the rock stadium master with your grass pokemon and became he master. Then you'd have to defend that specific stadium using only rock pokemon.
@Tsurii @molliolli182 yeah, it's not like we saw several different fandoms getting mad over forced motion controls in the past. It's not like even widely loved games like BotW and Odyssey received some criticism over it, despite it being just in minuscule and optional parts of the games...
And there's no way Gamefreak could do something people would not like. If they complained is because they don't want changes, in fact the complainers think gen 8 should be Sun HD, gen 9 Sun Full HD and gen 10 Sun 4K.
@Tsurii nah, I'm agreeing with your well thought argument of why GF shouldn't care about their fandom.
I’ll be excited about Pokemon if there’s some genuine revolution to the experiende. Gyms, capturing, trading, battling... all of that could still be familiar in an open world setting
@ilikeike What exactly would be sad about calling them Gym Masters as opposed to Gym Leaders?
@Dringo
I want to see my Pokemon moving inside an opaque ball... I know this would never happen
All the gym will be somehow related to sports stadium of some sort.
heck .. we hv a starter named scorebunny, this all part of a huge promotion for Olympic #Tokyo2020
@UmbreonsPapa "What exactly would be sad about calling them Gym Masters as opposed to Gym Leaders?"
Kids saying to their parents "I want the new Pokémon game for Christmas so I can be a Master beater."
Give it a second, it will come to you. 😂
@UmbreonsPapa I meant that it would be sad if a simple name change from Gym Leaders to Gym Masters was meant to be a huge, surprising reveal. If that's indicative of the small amount of change and progress in the pokemon franchise, then I think that's s bit disappointing.
Also, what rjejr said too.
@Liam_Doolan: This Serbii.net sounds suspicious. I'm sure Serebii.net might be a bit more trustworthy?
@KingBowser86 looks like you will have to navigate locker rooms this time!
Boring!
Let's talk about Nintendo's game of the year: Daemon Machina X. I'm on the 2nd mission in the demo & it's looking pretty amazballs. When do you think it's coming out? Can't wait! 😃👍
@carlos82 Due to that Gen 7 removed Gyms, it was kind of a significant reveal.
@rjejr Hahaha. Point taken!
@ilikeike I agree that if its just a name change with no change in the mechanics, then it would be disappointing.
What I think would be a cool concept is if the Gala region was broken into maybe 4 or 5 large areas with a overarching Gym Master per area, with a few mini gyms(or Sub Gyms) within those areas. So in order to face this Gym Master, you need to complete the Sub Gyms first. With 800+ Pokemon and with probably 50 to 100 more joining the ranks, I'd think you'd be able to offer more gyms that, while having a specific theme, can offer a variety of different Pokemon combinations within those themes
@Tyranexx I think you would definitely be right about that. Thanks for the heads up!
@UmbreonsPapa That would be a really cool idea. Another idea I think would be neat would be to treat the sub-gyms like Shrines in Bresth of the Wild. Have sub gyms all over the region and fill them with unique puzzles and challenges as well as some tough trainers and perhaps even rare items and pokemon at the end. Maybe have some sub gyms easy to find in towns and routes, but have others be hidden in the overworld to encourage exploration and experimentation. Adding cool secrets like that would really help the world feel more alive.
They're panicking because Reggie leaves soon.
Well they already said on the website that gyms are in the game so....
Simple really, releasing trivial info, then deleting it will suddenly make it not trivial and they can get even more presses fired up so to speak and gain additional pr out of something that is literally nothing.
@RennanNT Yeah, it's not easy to make sequels when someone still thinks you changed too much/too little. But so far GF has not made a main Pokemon game that sold poorly or was particularly bad. I think they'll play it safe and not change too much cos people still like the formula.
@molliolli182 I don't blame GF for playing it safe instead of trying to sell beyond their usual 15mi.
But it's depressing to see people incetivating them to do a low effort though. Even if the intent is to keep the core gameplay and formula intact, GF could absolutely do way better. They're absolutely not lacking on money and even in a case they can't hire top-tier devs, they can borrow from Nintendo studios (like BotW did). But wait for a game far from Switch limits, without standard features like free camera, missing features from previous pokemon games and still struggling to keep 30fps and still treated like GF is doing us a favor in selling their games.
@Liam_Doolan: No prob! Happy to help!
Whoa the gyms are bigger, so innovative and different...
@Gravitron Hey! Don't reveal new Pokemon!
Nothing surprising here but cool to have confirmed nonetheless!
Remember the big deal they made over the trials before sun and Moon released? Don't get your hopes up!
@ilikeike if you've played on Pokémon game you've played them all
Nintento all games and tweaked applications are availableon AppEven Store: https://appeven-download.com/
When do I get to be a Gym Leader? Nintendo. Get. With. The. Program.
Maybe “stadiums” are something else, like an optional tournament in the post game or something
@Citano Yesss i agree he will have 4 pokemon and they would be
Zororak
