Japanese publisher Zerodiv has revealed that it is bringing three more Psikyo arcade titles to the Switch eShop.
Samurai Aces, Sol Divide And Taisen Hot Gimmick are the trio in question. Samurai Aces (also known as Sengoku Ace) and Sol Divide are both horizontally-scrolling shooters while Taisen Hot Gimmick is a rather naughty Mahjong title in which the women you play against slowly shed their clothing. Gulp.
We don't have any solid release dates for these games as yet, but are you interested in downloading any of them? Let us know with a comment.

Pachinko Sexy Reaction, please.
I'll likely be buying both the vertical shoot 'em ups. At least, I believe SENGOKU ACES is a vertical scrolling shooter much like Psikyo's other output? (The original post above says horizontal). Will continue to support ZeroDiv and other companies dedicated to bringing great arcade games to the Switch.
I loved Samurai Aces. Can't remember which platform I played in on though... I like to say PS2?
@Frodolijah Most likely as the PS2 hosted ports of many arcade shooters, a number from Psikyo.
Samurai aces was brought out in a double pack for ps2 altho I've forgotten the other game. It's one that plays much like Gunbird and is ideed a vertical scroller. Sengoku blade was a horizontal shooter and was much better imho. I do hope they fix the awful port of Zero Gunner 2 first!
I was kinda hoping to see Sengoku Aces down the line and hope this is the step towards the release it's brilliant sequel Sengoku Blade: Sengoku Ace Episode II in the future. This Saturn version is getting waaaayyyyyyyyy too expensive.
Will continue to support their shm’up releases. Really enjoying both Strikers 1945 II and Zero Gunner 2-, although the patch to fix the few niggles in the latter should be priority 1.
@Chrismakem I have heard a few people complain about Zero Gunner 2. Since I have had very little experience with the original Dreamcast version, could you tell me what is wrong with the game? Here is me and a friend doing a complete run of the game on the Switch for reference.
@Shiryu It really depends on how much you’ve played the original on DC. Its actually dubbed ZG2 Minus as it had to be rebuilt for the Switch. I have encountered a few audio bugs but nothing overly game breaking. Also ground vehicles failing to go under you but again, not a huge problem for me.
Heck I even let my ZG2 owning shm’up purist friend play it and he loved it. Saw it as a different take on the game. I think the only way you’d be disappointed is if you wanted a pixel identical release of the DC game and nothing else.
A patch has been confirmed.
@FX102A Ah, great!
For anyone who hasn't yet downloaded it. The patch for ZERO GUNNER 2 - was available yesterday.
Also, there was a quite thorough breakdown of the initial flaws with the game (many which have now been fixed) in the comments section of the NL review for ZERO GUNNER 2 -. In case anyone is interested.
@Lroy Cool, will update tonight!
@Shiryu. Well your chopper bashes into stuff on the ground which didn't happen in the orig, lots of pick ups completely disappear but can still be collected if you guess where they're going to drift/ allow them to get sucked into you. The way the pick ups get sucked towards you is wrong and takes a thing away that used to be massive fun - bonus herding. You stop shooting but crucially you can still move or turn and the pick ups should follow you - a small but significant problem. The difficulty is way off for bosses- you've all played Gunbird's train boss right? All ZG2's bosses should be this tough but even in arcade mode they take 30 secs to down. There is more but that's off the top of my head. If I had time I'd do a video of the DC version but I'm at work atm.
Shmups! Shmups everywhere! I love it!
@Chrismakem Glad a patch is in the works. I knew Naomi porting couldn't be an easy task.
No love for Mahjong? 😛
Both shooters for me!!
@shiryu yeah someone said it went live today? Looking forward to it. Tbf they've done a cracking job with the high res gfx altho the screen filter mode is awful - my dc hooked up with just a SCART doesn't look that bad!
@Chrismakem I will check it out at lunch.
@Shiryu Oh yeah, if there is one annoyance its the seeming easiness of the bosses. Biggest issue for me is the helicopter boss on the train level. Sometimes never deploys its drones and shoots slowly. Even when its the 4th random level.
Of course i'll get both shmups...
... and it looks like i'll finally learn how to play Mahjong.
Nope, no patch for Zero Gunner 2 up yet.
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Shiryu My game updated yesterday. I'm in the UK.
@Lroy Eh? Maybe I already had the update and did not notice!
@Shiryu I had to select the game and manually get the update to start. I think it is highlight game on Switch and then hit (+) plus to bring up the software options. One of those is check for update. The game then updated for me and the invisible bullet glitch was noticeably reduced. Bullets still get obscured by the green power up pellets but they are at least visible once they move from underneath them.
I imagine in the original arcade game, the bullets were likely prioritised as the top layer and thus would not ever be obscured by other in-game graphics? Anyway, much better now than it was.
@Lroy I did that and it said no update available. It must have updated quietly last night and I did not notice the version number. :x
Oh well, perfect excuse to replay the game.
Sol Divide looks like it could be subtitled, "Castlevania, the 2D side scrolling shooter". FUN!
How naughty is Taisen Hot Gimmick? I just want to know for research reasons.
Zerodiv... I like you guys. I like you a lot. You are making some of my favorite arcade style shoot-em-ups far more accessible and I love you for it.
Slightly off topic. Slightly related. WHERE DID THE DATA-EAST GAMES GO!?!
For a moment I read "Zero Divide" there XD. Thank God I read wrong.
I have Samurai Aces on PS2. A very fun shoot ’em up, very similar to Gunbird.
Does anyone in the comments know if the second loop is present in Zero Gunner 2-? I'm not sure how I feel about their ports after ZG2-. Also, I wish leaderboards would be included in their re-releases.
Comon Psiko! Bring us Dragon Blaze!
Kinda nutty how they're porting one of Psikyo's best games and their very worst at the same time.
I can confirm the zg2- update for the UK. it allows you to half configure your controller altho annoyingly does not allow use of the shoulder buttons which is a sin. Also vibrate is now all or nothing, and invisible bonus pick ups seems a lot better. They've still not fixed the sodding bonus pick up movement and the boss difficulty hasn't been touched. Still not a bad game guys but I'd recommend shoot em up purists go find the DC version and an HD cable to see Zero Gunner in all it's glory.
Sol Divide is a bit of a surprise, given that it's one of Psikyo's weaker titles. Still, if we can get their entire library on Switch, I will not complain. Still waiting for Sengoku Blade, Dragon Blaze, GunBird 2, and Strikers 1999.
