With Nintendo due to reveal its annual financial results on 27th April, we're getting to the point where it typically outlines its E3 plans - well, Nintendo of America is teasing details early.
We're hopeful of a big E3, and it seems a live event is on the cards - a Splatoon 2 'Exhibition Tournament' is coming to the expo.
This makes a lot of sense, of course, with the inky shooter being a major Summer release for Nintendo. In addition the new entry looks set to make a big pitch for the eSports / competitive gaming space, so this could fit nicely with that angle.
Are you looking forward to a Splatoon 2 event at E3?

The more advertising the better in my opinion. If Nintendo was smart they would have a corresponding testfire set up.
But I wanna play too...
This alone tells me we're gonna have a far superior E3 in comparison to the last two years. I'd rather wait for Spla2n to be released then watch some tournament, though.
@GoldenGamer88 Why does this provide reason for your claim?
Hope this tournament will go better than the Splatoon Nintendo world championship one.....
Awesome! I hope, since it's a tournament (and even quite close to release), that we can see more, like weapons, stages or modes, maybe in the final. Guess if this can take us to another testfire
Right on. Whatever generates buzz from the media at e3. Time to show the masses there's more top tier games flooding Switch this year
I'm just hoping Nintendo someday returns to the live stage presentation for E3 rather than a pre-recorded stream. I actually enjoy watching the audience reactions to huge announcements (if there are any).
@Nintendoforlife I would like a testfire with better servers because I couldn't play the first one because it kept disconnecting me before any matches started :/
@Nintendoforlife Well, if they're already announcing stuff for E3, we'll have more than one or two interesting games this time for sure. Not too surprising with the Switch's launch and all, though.
@PeterAndCompany Didn't we get that in January? Do you really want to see more of this?
Edit: The audience is generally a mix of press and investors. The reactions are "yes, this will make me money!" and awkward applause queues. The 3 days of treehouse include nice time for interviews and such without the awkward staged applause "because your fund equity will be enhanced"
I kind of enjoyed the testfire(s) on WU. However, tiered, &/or paid online is... something of a turn-off, not turn-away, although how the online is handled overall could make it either.
Edit: I still wanna get a NS, but I'm a little reluctant to the vague concept of online play, Nintendo has mentioned.
Sweet. Sounds like they're sticking with the format they used in 2014 and 2015, which is smart. Hope it goes more like 2014 though!
@GoldenGamer88 Sort of like this haha: https://www.ssbwiki.com/Super_Smash_Bros._Invitational
So, when is E3 2017 will be held ?
Date and time ?
@Anti-Matter Los Angeles, California
June 13th - 15th
12:00 - 6:00
10:00 - 6:00
10:00 - 5:00
I could definitely see E3 2017 being similar to E3 2014 in terms of hype but you have the extra advantage of there not being a summer game drought.
@Nintendoforlife
Thank you so much.
@Moon Same. Another Testfire event during E3 would be cool.
I might have a Switch by then, so a testfire would be nice. But I probably won't get Splatoon this time around. It's not for me.
I want another Testfire, I didn't get to play because it ended a day before I got the Switch...
Noice
So...is there a sign up for a "Smash 4: Remastered for the Switch" Exhibition tournament? Just curious
But seriously, this will be interesting to watch.
Does anyone know if it is invite-only? I might make it to E3 for the first time this year! And this would be perfect for me, being mainly a Splatoon YouTuber and player
Seriously they need all the hype they can get this year, if the other two give specs and details on new consoles then games will take second place with coverage.
But bring on the crazy and let us in on the action please.
