@dethmart Mine too, we have told her the current pink controller is the Princess one and the blue is Toad. Well I guess this is another controller I will be buying. Nintendo could probably get more money out of me with more color options like Daisy, Toad, Rosalina, Mango or others.

Nico07 commented on Super Smash Bros. Hitting 3DS This Summer, Wii...:

@GooRoo you never know, they will most likely offer a discount on the digital Wii U version if you have a digital copy of the 3DS version.
Still I'm disappointed, but at the same time there are no big PS4 games on the near horizon. Its not like I wont buy both versions becauae of the delay. I just have to wait longer to enjoy them. Still looking forward to MK8 and news of Zelda at E3. Hopefully Nintendo has more tricks up their sleeve then.

I loved this game as a kid and would spend hours playing it at my cousins house. By the same token I played Super Mario Bros, Off Road Racing, The Legend of Zelda, The Jackal, Rescue Rangers, and Ducktales all bring back great memories.

@element187 I understand that, anything is better than 320x240 resolution. Still I wouldn't be willing to pay over $100 and would hope for $60 or lower. I like to play Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles over emulators. And unfortunately many of my N64 games are not on the eShop.

I would love to pick this up, but cautiously waiting to see the price. Hopefully sub $60 as it is self install with soldering involved. I have about 20 games I would love to play natively from my N64 in HD, including Goldeneye, Pilotwings and a few others unavailable on eShop.

@sonicfanatic These numbers dont mean much to Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft owners as the developers polledat this conference were mainly IOS and Android developers. IOS/Android are not the way of the future, so these numbers don't mean a thing. Only that those in attendace must have a wish to cash in on some Flappybird style game.

I'm excited for this one as I had already preordered last September. Too bad there is nothing else for Wii U (excluding NES Remix 2 in April) until MK8 May 30th. Hopefully E3 holds a lot of surprises that first week of June.

Nico07 commented on Talking Point: The Watch_Dogs Wii U Delay Demo...:

@gatorboi352 I think the average Nintendo owner does like and purchases third party games for the most part. These responses are typical on here from Wii U owners upset that third party aren't better supporting their console. It's true that Nintendo's shortcomings of failing to advertise and put out great content in a timely matter paired with third party releasing cheap or feature lacking ports are BOTH hurting the Wii U.

Nico07 commented on Wii Fit No Substitute For Real Exercise Accord...:

I have a coworker that lost 80 lbs with a combination of Wii Fit, biking and diet. This study seems short sidded in my opinion as many of Wii Fit's excercises are effective. The key is motivation paired with diet and enough cardio.

Nico07 commented on Review: Barbie Dreamhouse Party (Wii U):

@mercurio2054 @Ron_DelVillano After a slight delay in shipping we finally received this game in the mail yesterday. To give some background on my two girls, my youngest is three and a half, and my older daughter is five and a half. I also have a son who is nine. My youngest likes video games but doesn't have a grasp yet on controlling a character in a three dimensional world and so she typically enjoys games controlled on a tablet. My five year old enjoys games her brother enjoys such as Skylanders and Mario 3D World.
Initial reactions were excitement as I had given them no forewarning that we were purchasing this game. The character selection is based entirely from the order you pair your controllers in, and so Barbie is solely controlled from the Gamepad to my three year old's dismay. One of the rooms we tried was the Kitchen in which my son became very competitive lobbing cupcakes across the room to form his tower. At the same time he was attempting to stop my five year old and I from tossing burned cupcakes at his tower to thwart his inevitable win. Some games make intuitive use of the controls such as pointing Wiimotes at the television to apply makeup, while the Gamepad player swipes his/her finger across the screen to perform the same action. Other activities such as dressing your Barbie use the directional pad or left joystick of the Gamepad, where touch screen controls at least for the Gamepad, would have seemed to be a good option. The only frustration for my girls in playing is the lack of explanation for the game controls in some rooms. None of the games are incredibly challenging, but with young children be prepared to step in, figure out, and then explain the controls to them. Case in point, the box stacking game found in the bedroom. Other characters can walk in front of your character and take boxes you would normally collect unless you press the "2" button to step forward. This isn't explained by the game. My girls favorite activity is dressing the Barbies, but the mini-games are still enjoyable for them and are on level for my five year old. My three year old is happy to either learn or have her sister step in and show her what to do. The character models are very detailed and animated with voiceovers to keep younger players interested. My three year old even asked to play this game again this morning. At the $20 price I paid for this game (the same price it is selling currently in the NA eShop, as well as Amazon and Walmart.com), I consider it a good investment for younger children with some replay ability. The theme keeps my three year old wanting to play it, when she doesn't really get into any of our other "better" games.

Nico07 commented on Sonic Lost World Sales Reached 640,000 in 2013:

@chiptoon I agree, depite the bad reviews it is still a fun game. I love the asymmetric two player game modes with one player on TV and the other on the Gamepad.
I bought a lot of games last year, mostly on Wii U, and this was one of my favorites.

@element187 Its a valid concern with some games already removed from the Wii eShop. No one knows when the Wii eShop will no longer be supported. If in 10 or 20 years I want to play MK64 on my Wii but my memory card went missing or was reformated I would be out of luck. Sony and Microsoft aren't any better though. Despite that I have already invested about 300 dollars in the Wii U eShop.

Nico07 commented on A Sonic Boom Game is Dashing Towards Wii U and...:

This forum seems pretty split. I haven't been a huge Sonic fan until more recently starting with Sonic Colours on Wii, Generations, and have even enjoyed the new Sonic Lost World. The only side scrolling pieces are a little slow for my taste, but the new titles I think have done a good job of mixing solid 2D levels with fun 3D racing levels. I will be picking this one up on Wii U, bad reviews be darned.

@XCWarrior I'm with you on that one. I will be grabbing Lego The Movie Videogame for Wii U at retail as well as Bravely Default. The charts would seem to indicate tgese games aren't that popular when in reality people are wanting the physical release. Reasons for this being fears of your console breaking and not having purchases transfer, as well as a preference for a disc when the eShop is shut down years from now and you are unable to re-download.

Nico07 commented on Rumour: Disney Infinity 2 Coming To Wii U, But...:

It'll be interesting to see what they do with the franchise. My daughter, son and I all enjoy this game and the toybox mode now that we have nearly 100% completion of the game. After we beat it we ended up picking up Skylanders Swap Force for the first time and have enjoyed that one as well. They are both unique enough that each has a reason to exist. As for it skipping the Wii, it was bound to happen. The Lego franchise has already skipped on it this last round of games and the hardware isn't being produced any longer so it should be expected. The Wii had a good run while it lasted.

@Sceptic Nintendo has ideas for the GamePad you only need play NintendoLand, Game and Wario, or Wii Party U to see them. They only need to roll out some of these ideas in a full game scale. Mario 3D World and Wind Waker HD hardly used the Gamepad and both have options to not use it. While games like Wonderful 101 are unplayable without the Gamepad in the campaign mode.

If I the consumer have muliple consoles I am going to buy the strongest release. I buy my Lego games on Wii U even though I have a PS4 for the multiplayer. For Arkham Origins the Wii U should have been the strongest version.

Nico07 commented on Nintendo of America Issues Refunds After Warne...:

Of the versions released the Wii U version recieved the worst reviews because of bugs. Warner didn't release multi and dropped the price because it was late in development. I bought it but have only put in a few hours. Still disappointing that because of developers choices, lack of attention, the Wii U gets weak Ports, which in turn hurt the devs and in turn they complain about lack of sales. I feel for the devs but they bring it on themselves.

Updated A Link to the Past myself, glad to finally get it on the eShop. Now I am only confused on why we haven't seen SMB3 when it was more or less promised by Iwata at the end of last year. That will be another instant upgrade for me. As far as the eShop indie titles I already have Switch Force so I will probably grab Giana Sisters as it looks fairly interesting.

Nico07 commented on Satoru Iwata Admits The "Wii U Isn't In Good S...:

@Unca_Lz Don't expect any drastic smartphone changes anytime soon. At worst they decide to go away from needing the Gamepad or just beef up a new PS4 Nintendo console. I think in the long run the Wii U will be okay, Nintendo would alienate fans and consumers in general by going away from it so soon. I think a $250 price point and more games will solve a lot of their problems.
I mean before Nintendo stock fell (and largely came back) earlier this month, Nintendo had more in the bank than all of Sony.

@mystman12 Excite Truck would be a great addition to the Nintendo eShop, even if they simply re-released the original in full 1080p 60fps. I would pick it up. Needless to say there are many games I would prefer otherwise such as the "not going to happen" Earthbound U. But hopefully Nintendo has several unannounced projects for 3DS and Wii U coming to market soon that we will find out about soon.

I like the price and 60 fps with 3D, I may even have to grab a CPP. But gaving played the first one, this same game already, I would actually be more excited for a remake of the DS Metroid by Nintendo or a new IP. The lack of FPS games on the 3DS is reason enough to buy. But when I bought my 3DS I had visions of how great an IP like a remake of the old N64 Goldeneye would be on the 3DS. I still have a blast with my 3DSXL

@unrandomsam This is very different. Few CEOs outright lie to those they would call their fans. I'm okay with EA wanting to make money, just don't pretend that we can't see past their lies.
I mean sure Iwata made mention of releasing SMB3 in the US last year. But if he was Peter Moore he would have have everyone in his organization talk to the public calling all Nintendo fans babies and and then denying everything.

I believe EA is in bed with Microsoft and Microsoft couldnt have a better version of games on the competition's hardware. Case in point, Crysis 3 that was ready to release on Wii U but EA stopped it and would not publish it. EA, not Nintendo is the childish company here.

I liked Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube, and will pick this up if ever it is released on the Wii U. I still think Nintendo should back it as an exclusive, but maybe not that many people were into the original. As for the team member that was convicted of child porn, obviously he needs help and it became big news during one of the failed funding attempts. I know some have strong feelings about not supporting his firm because of that, but he was one guy and his team probably had no idea what he was into. I really doubt any of the game content would reflect his own personal sexual deviation to the norm.

Oh what a world? This is what happens when shareholders see the Wii is selling like hotcakes and then hear that Nintendo revised it's overly ambitious sales figures for the Wii U. Just because it isn't selling huge numbers as the best games are forthcoming doesn't mean that the sky is falling and it is time to sell. Oh well, I might have to look into buying some stock if the prices continue to drop.

Nico07 commented on Talking Point: Claims of Wii U Third-Party Dev...:

@Sean_Aaron Activision has been good to Nintendo with COD and Skylanders, I really don't think they will bail any time soon. EA on the other hand was quick to form an "unprecedented partnership" of name calling and back bitting before coming out and saying they just weren't selling the numbers they wanted.

I'm convinced the studio behind the article was Criterion with EA in producing the greatest racer on Wii U, Most Wanted U. It must have been tough developing it on the Wii U in the early days based on when it released. I wish they could release the DLC at least even though the Wii U version out of the box is the best. Hopefully more studios will take a chance and make quality games like Criterion has done.
