It's been a little while coming, but BeautiFun Games' Nihilumbra finally has a confirmed release date on the Wii U. Having cleared Nintendo's testing it'll arrive on 14th May in Europe and North America.
This puzzle adventure incorporates a painterly art style and a variety of mechanics, in which you use a range of colours to affect the environment. This'll fit the Wii U GamePad and its touch screen rather well, and this version will have an exclusive co-op mode in which one player controls the protagonist with a Wii Remote and a partner focuses on painting the world on the touch screen.
Nihilumbra will cost $9.99 / €8.99 and have a 20% discount in its first two weeks, until 28th May. We believe the press release is stating that it'll therefore be $7.99 / €7.29 at launch, but as it's not crystal clear whether the original prices given haven't already had the 20% applied we've got in touch with the developer to clarify.
Are you considering picking this one up on Wii U?

Looks a but like a poor mans trine, harsh I know
Doesn't look like Trine at all to me.
But hooray for painting in games!
I had this on my iPad for a little while. Sadly, I found it to be lackluster, and just not that fun.
This is one of those games I'd play for a bit, think it's alright, get stuck and then never play again.I've got enough of them on my second and third Gamepad screen so I'll be giving this one a miss regardless of the score.
Also, the actual lanscape is boring. Right angles everywhere.
Yes, I've been waiting for this one! I'm glad to see it's finally launching.
Oh yeah! I remember buying this game off Steam when it was on discount!
I've only played it once, but I did enjoy playing it, so I'll pick up this version up too once it comes out
If colors are necessary for progression, then I guess I will skip it.
@sinalefa
Yes, they are essential.
Wow - this took forever to actually have a release date. I for one, will definitely want to play this
Awesome story, good narrator. GREAT.
Looks well-made, but I'm not a fan of slow paced platformers.
The multiplayer mode looks like you will have to very coordinated because the actions will have to be extremely quick in order for people to make it through those hazardous parts before Born is destroyed.
Finally! I've been waiting on this game for ages. It kept saying it would release last year, I believe back in Spring. Then it changed it winter, and then it never came out in winter, but despite being 2015 hadn't changed it's release date from 2014.
Alas, I'll finally get to play this amazing looking game. I hope to enjoy it!
