Topic: Wow Cave story is officially Awesome!

I've been playing about 3 hours now and having great fun with it. I couldn't put it down. Reminds me so much of the Metroid or the Castletroid games. I highly suggest you get it if you like either of those. Glad I bought it.

At the rate you're going you might need quite a few, as Cave Story costs several points

i'm glad it's being so well received, and that it has absolutely dominated the forum. i don't want to spoil anything, but i'll say this: what a difference a controller makes! it's so much better than playing with a keyboard, and the button layout is so perfect for both the remote and CC. also, the new graphics hands down beat the old ones. i tried switching back after getting used to the new visuals to see how the original looked in comparison and i just couldn't play that way; it just looks harsh. the facelift is much easier on the eyes and i think it actually adds more charm rather than subtracting it.

my one problem is the new music which, despite sounding much better technically, i'm not warming up to. switching back to the old music creates a bit of a problem, since the game still uses the new sound effects which are much louder. so if you mix and match new and old you'll have to do some tweaking to set the FX and music levels to match each other, and if you want the fully original audio, you have to select both old music and graphics to get it. not a big problem, it's just that the switching doesn't work as neatly as i'd hoped.

one spoiler maybe: "huzzah!" is out, and "OH YEAAHHH!" is in. as much as i miss the huzzah, kool-aid balrog kicks ass.

in short: the full game is intact and even more fun than it was on the PC. buy it.

Yeah, sweet game. I'm at 3.5 hours thus far. One thing kinda bugs me though: Why do the maps always kinda cut off on detail at a certain point towards the right? Was this problem in the original game?

I had it on my PC (until it broke and had to get my hard drive restored). Is the WiiWare one any different? I loved playing it.

Revamped graphics and sound (although I'm not sold on the new sound), tons of extra game modes, difficulty settings, DLC--basically, tons of new stuff. I reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaalllllllyyyyy recommend buying it.

I played this game for four hours straight today and I can gladly say that it is definitely awesome.
