I just got done beating Niki Rock n Ball, and I must say....I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Niki (and other Bplus games) take alot of unfair criticism on this site in my opinion. I ALSO enjoyed Plattchen. I was tempted to buy it after the soap opera drama that followed the review, and I wasn't let down. I have yet to play Bitboy, as it doesn't really appeal to me. Anyways, has anyone enjoyed playing Bplus games? They seem to be willing to take chances, and create something completely different. I applaud them for that, and look forward to seeing more games from them in the future.
Is Bit Boy okay? I was wondering because I like the idea of going through the evolution of gaming.
I'm pretty okay.

I liked Bit Boy!!, though I like Bit Man!! a lot more. I too feel like trying out the other Bplus games; now that I have a North American Wii and get get Plattchen for cheaper than 1500 points that may well happen!
Niki - Rock 'n' Ball is the worst WiiWare game that I've played so far. Repetitive gameplay, horrible controls, annoying music etc. It just did everything wrong. I have seen enough of BPlus so I'm staying far away from Bit Boy!! and Plattchen.

I agree with Yasume. To answer Luke's question, I forced myself to finish the game and I used the tilt controls at first but switched to the classic controls (which weren't much better) around halfway through. When I first started playing it I didn't think it was THAT bad, but the level designs just kept worse and worse all the way through until the end of the game.
I have both Bubble Bobble, and Niki, and greatly prefer Niki. Somehow Bubble Bobble enjoys celebrity status, yet games like this get slammed. Don't really get it.
Yasume: Did you use classic control or Wii style? Did you finish the game? Just wondering.
I used the classic style and although that it certainly is better than the Wii style, I still had trouble controlling Niki. He sometimes moved in a total different direction that I wanted which caused a lot of dies.
Yes, I did finish it (the last stage was a pain in the artichoke xD). I didn't complete it 100%, though. I got 9/40 gold medals.

I don't think "somehow" enters into it, as nearly all of the complaints that surface about Niki (sloppy controls, bad music/art style, poor level design) are absent from Bubble Bobble. (Granted, our latter-day gaming sensibilities wish there was more than ONE SONG in the whole game, but it's a certified classic, the controls are tight and responsive, and the level design is--overall--the perfect combination of challenging and solveable.)
I admit, I haven't played Niki, but that's irrelevant. If I turned out to love the game, that doesn't change the fact that these complaints are thrown up frequently by others. I may ultimately disagree with a negative opinion of Niki, but it's pretty clear to me that when all the complaints that apply to it aren't really applicable to Bubble Bobble, that's obviously why they're not held in the same critical regard.
I've played Niki and Bubble Bobble. They are not in the same league. Bubble Bobble is in the "good game" league, while Niki is in the "absolutely terrible game -- if this can even be called a game and not simply semi-interactive vomit" league (joined only by Bit Boy -- and possibly Plattchen if I were daring enough -- and hated having money enough -- to try).
@Adam: i would gift you Plattchen for epic MSChat3k awesome, but there's no telling if C_B would be able to join us. we can't do it without him there also, i don't not-like you that much D:

Oh if we were able to hook Adam up with a copy of Plattchen, I'd make SURE I'm there.
@C_B, Adam: it is done! may God have mercy on our souls...

Are you serious?! You gifted me Plattchen?! Oh my pork. Tell me when to be in chat this weekend, and I will save it to play then, you evil, evil people.
I wanted to try Niki Rolly Thingy but people complained about it a lot, so I didn't end up getting it. I like Bplus' innovation, their excecution sounds pretty poor though.
"Thanks" for the "gift," TBD. After playing it, I can safely say this is not the worst game ever, though the worst game ever is a BPlus game, and this is the second worst. Oh, and Bit Boy may well be the third worst.
Looking forward to that 3D tank game thing all the more.
Edit: Just unlocked Copycat mode, which is genuinely, seriously almost not horrendous.
