I would say Special Championship Edition on the Megadrive would be the best followed by The New Challengers
That Megadrive one is awful. The TG16 version is a much better port in the ways that I think are important. It is the only port of Championship edition that is any good.
I like the Arcade Turbo Hyper FIghtin' but I don't have a good way of running it. (The version for the 360 is problematic because of the input lag of LCD TV's)
The home best version of Streetfighter 2 (I exclude X68000 because of it being so obscure outside Japan and the CPS Changer - Capcom's Neo Geo) is Super Streetfighter 2 Turbo on the 3DO.
The SNES ones were ok at the time but they don't play the same as the Arcade versions.
Best versions of Alpha 2 and 3 are supposed to be the Saturn versions. (I have the Dreamcast Alpha 3 which I think is quite good but the Saturn version is likely the best).
I have Streetfighter IV Arcade for the PC but I would prefer if it was just exactly the same as the Tatio Type X version which it isn't.
(For its price the 3DS one is a good buy.)

Freedom of the press is for those who happen to own one.
TG16/PC Engine version (Only one I can find on the proper hardware). There is no slowdown. (Other than having to get the 6 button pad it is one of the few good home conversions).

That is why I prefer the old school SF series on the Sega systems better. 6 buttons on the face of the controller with the best damn 8 direction D-pad money could buy... The Mortal Kombat series was the definitive version on those systems also

When I see this, it really saddens me that their hasn't been any Street Fighter on the N64. The 4 C-buttons with buttons A and B would have made a fine 6-button setup, rightly facing that d-pad...
The N64 sold really poorly in Japan, so it got very little support from Japanese third-parties. Capcom only released RE2 and Mickey's Magical Tetris Challenge.
Surprised to see Capcom just release them all at once, not like Wii where they tried to get people to buy them all.
