It did it in such a subtle way though, which made it all the more surprising! :O

Yeah Xenoblade really mastered storytelling in a game. I spoiled a ton of the story early.

Spoiler!!!!!!!!!

I literally went online to see if Fiora had actually died, revealing that whole scene on Prison Island. I still enjoyed the cut-scenes and was surprised even if I knew what was coming.

Black Knight: "Is that all there is? No chance,no resistance."
Greil: "No, now you have my pissed off son to worry about!"
Ike:"Father!"
Greil: "Stay away from that knight.
"Ike: "I will. You hugged him, and look at you now."
Greil: shakes head

I have bad luck at avoiding spoilers for series (looking at you Naruto) so I was glad basically nothing was spoiled beyond "lots of sidequests are no longer available after Mechonis Core".

@kk I miraculously made it through the game (or at least the majority of the game :P because my wii broke. :( ) without encountering spoilers. :3

The only other other Wii JRPG I know of that I've heard is better than mediocre (ignoring VC of course) is something called Opoona. According to Wiki it's made by former Square Enix people.

A lot of people are don't seem to like it all that much but I love Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the new world, its not as good as its predecessor of Tales of the Abyss but its still a great game and I actually think that its better than The last story. Since, its a sequel to Tales of Symphonia, I recommend playing that first. I'd recommend that anyway as I think its the best game ever. Also, I haven't played them but I've heard that the Rune factory Wii games and Sakura wars: So long, my love are really good. They're not traditional RPGs though as the former is like Harvest moon with some dungeons to go through (its actually a spin-off of the Harvest moon series) and the latter is an SRPG.

in theory, I'm right before the endgame, the final 1 or 2 areas.

Knowing this game though, I'm expecting another 4 hours of cutscenes and 12 hours of gameplay.

So I'm in Bionis's Leg area at the second Mechion with a face where you go into the grate and wander through caves and then make your way down some sort of big device with spinning blades in search of the face Mechion that stole one of your peoples kid. I'm having a hard time beating it, I'm at level 26 and decided to go back and level up on previous Mechion. When fighting the boss is it better to build up the meter on the top left by killing the regulat ones that he produces or beat on the face boss himself? What are secrets with triggering the 3 way attack once the meter fills up? I usually get killed off before it even fills up.

@paburrows I'm not sure what fills up your party gauge faster, but I beat Xord by controlling Sharla instead of Shulk. Hang back and let everyone do whatever they want. You just make sure no one dies and before you know it you have a full party gauge. Then it's Reyn time! That's how it worked out for me anyway.

...in my pants.

@paburrows You should beat the smaller mechon to build up your chain gauge. Then when you use that chain attack, make sure that you use an attack that causes break followed by one that causes topple.

@paburrows

Use Sharla, heal everyone and spam, Thunder Bullet (it does elemental damage to Xord).

I suggest you use the next area after that boss battle to learn good strategies because if you're having this much trouble with Xord at that level, you're not gonna survive the later boss battles (although luckily the next area is pretty much a breather area by comparison so yeah).

I'm going to grind the last few levels of the game. Where can I get a lot of experience fast at level 85?

I'm finding all the 2nd to last level Heart-to-Hearts and then saying screw it to any level 80 and 90 monsters and quests involving them and maybe soon I'll actually beat this game.

Thanks guys I beat Xord last night, for some reaon I beat a boss with Break and Tople but then just wonder around the countryside enjoying the sights and just cycling through the button mashing when in fights, so the break and topple reminder was helpful. Expect me bac for another reminder when I get to the next boss, and everyone after that. LOL

The first endgame boss fight was amazing. By that I mean it was incredibly difficult and then I got lucky and was able to constantly topple the boss before more annoying enemies could be summoned thus a hilariously anti-climatic battle. It was pretty awesome and I am so glad I didn't give up on the Spear Break/Kick combo for Melia.

Another Question I keep running into these boomerang looking things which I think allow you to warp to previous areas? How do you use one?

Those are the Heart-To-Heart conversations. You can just warp by using the left-most option in the menu.

...did you not know this? Because that's kinda unfortunate if you didn't.
