ok dial up on a wireless singnal will be very slow so why not just switch to somthing like comcast or clear wire by the way i look at it you need a diferent internet connection. you will fail on dial up unless there is a phone jack right next to your TV and you get that usb adapter to connect the cable to your wii.
This is ground control to major Tom, you've really made the grade. And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
then your router isnt powered by your pc how i say it does this way your pc has to be on or that router inst getting power (its an old way to do but it works and is cheaper)
Excuse me? Would the Wi-Fi connector wok with Dial-up?
it should; the only problem is that your computer has to remain connected to the internet, so if that line is public and people call you on it, you'd be stuck having to reconnect every time.

Hey; got a wireless internet stick. I tried putting it directly into the Wii, didn't work. So I need a router to plug it into, correct? or could i just go buy a Nintendo wi-fi thingy; would that work?
So would the internet stick work with a Nintendo Wi-Fi? Or do I need a router to plug it into? Because I'll be picking up a router next week if it would work. EDIT: Yes, Dial-Up sucked
OK you're saying it would work, it would just be slow? Hmmmm... If you didn't read my previous post, I have to convince my parents into signing up.
"Slow" is an extreme understatement. It would be so bad that you would probably go bald from pulling out all your hair in frustration.
There is a way to hardwire your Wii to get online, but I forgot how or if it even works with dial-up. Check out the help section at the official Nintendo site or Google it.
Just FYI, minial, but the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector has been discotinued by Nintendo. I'd been having all sorts of problems with it lately, and when I went to the site, it said that it was no longer an option. Ticked me off quite nicely.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

What was going on with it. Did they just quit working with it?
@J-Man: Well, this is what I saw on the official website:
Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector Please note: The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector has been discontinued until further notice. As an alternative for on-line access, Wii owners can use a standard wireless router, or the Wii LAN Adapter.
I don't know if that means they plan on bringing it back up, but it'll just be easier to get something else. I hope my family can get wireless now; we never needed it before because of the connector, but if Nintendo's done with it, there's not much else to do.

@PheonixSage I bought this gigabit router from Office Depot. Even if you have Wired Internet. It will still work with it. You can just attach it to the wired router you have. It works well with Smash Bros.

Really? Hmm, that would be a nice option if wireless internet is out of the question. I'll definitely look into it.
