Topic: Wii 2?

When do you think the Wii 2 when will be out? Sales are only going to drop and the hardware just isn't up to modern gaming. Personally, I suspect 2012.

Way too mainsteam. Forgotten it's original fans. I've moved to the Wii3.

I remember reading that because the Wii, PS3, and XBox 360 are very advanced, that there won't be a need for nex gen systems until WAY into the future.

Xbox and PS3 maybe, the Wii isn't very advanced. They need to update with a Wii 2 for this generation to put it on the same level of hardware as the X360 and PS3, THEN worry about the next generation IMO.

Doesn't the fact that the wii has outsold the competition together with their embracing of non traditional controls like wii did prove that high specs aren't all that important, after all last gen was dominated by PS2 not Xbox.

Quantity =/= Quality. Sales are dropping, its reached its maximum saturation. Plus, Wii is no longer unique.

I'm sure Nintendo can and will find more than enough new buyers, they've sold tons but I can't see how the market could be considered saturated especially when you look at PS2's sales.

Personally they could keep the Wii going for several more years and I wouldn't mind at all.
The graphics never were a big selling point for me. Why is everybody in such a hurry to have a new Nintendo system?
It'll get here when it gets here. Meantime let's just enjoy what we have.
If these things get too advanced you won't be able to afford them anyway.

A hurry? All consoles tend to last about five years before moving on to the next one. 2012 we should be expecting a new console from Nintendo to be released.

Isn't 3DS going to be enough to hold you over for now? Just imagine, by 2025 the current systems will likely cost over 3000 dollars. It seems some folks just don't feel important enough without the most powerfull system on the market.
Like it's some kind of contest. As if they are saying... Mine's bigger than yours!
