a) Am I the only one who thinks the physics look off?
Nope. I don't even know why they persist with these momentum based physics. Platforming is based mainly on precision control. Momentum does not lend itself to precision control. Anyone who maintains that the old Sonic games don't handle sloppily is lying (or possibly just hasn't played Mario, which has, undeniably, much tighter and smoother controls). This mechanic of momentum was implemented into Sonic simply to enhance the feeling of speed, which while revolutionary at the time, isn't such a big deal these days.
I honestly don't think it would be a Sonic game without momentum... isn't that what Sonic is all about?
It was cool in 1994 but it's just irritating now. How many other successful platformers have ever used that degree of momentum? None, and for good reason.
Here's the leaked strategy guide for it: Press right on control pad or analog stick, press jump button every so often, finish stage, download next installment and repeat as needed.
I am the one you despise. I am he who says what you really deep down know but are affraid to admit. I am the Anti-Fanboy, the crusader of truth in a world built on your lies.

Pretty much like the other Sonic games on the Genesis. Sounds fine to me
If Sonic looks stupid or not. It's SONIC FOUUUUR!! Looking into Kotaku's video. This game looks really fun. Hope the Wii pricetag isn't a bomb though. But really looking forward to it (As a PAL user... Please don't screw up the framerate)
I for one am very excited about the new installment to the old 2D franchise, admittedly I enjoyed the slow pacing of the Master System Sonics over the fast speed of the Mega Drive/Genesis version but this graphical update is just too good to pass up
Could use more platforming and the homing attack is stupid. On the positive side, I loved seeing the sign and big ring at the end of the level, brings back memories of the first game.
