It isn't anything like playing a real guitar, and music games suck in my opinion. Never liked them never will.
Doesn't mean other people won't. Just because you do not like doesn't mean you should tell people not to get it and FYI it is a video game if you forgot.
He asked if he should get it. I said what he was asking for. A "yes" or "no". I said "no".

Yet you gave an unreasonable answer that really wouldn't apply to him at all and didn't help his decision and thus your post being absolutely pointless.

He didn't ask for reasons

Stating Don't get it., and not stating why at first then going off and saying It isn't anything like playing a real guitar doesn't help the guy decide what-so-ever. You need reasons when stating your opinion and when a topic is asking Should I get it? you obviously need to. Its common sense but it seems you don't have much.
It is his opinion, why should he have to explain, just say your piece, let him say his, and then move on. Starfox should really be the one asking questions or needing explanations i think.
forgive me for thinking that "don't get it" was a pretty poor response to the original post. If someone wants to have that opinion thats fine but at the very least give some reasons so that the original poster can work out whether that opinion is worth taking into account or not. At least say "don't get it because it doesn't live upto the hype" or something so that (as has happened) its clearer what the arguments on either side are.
And it looks like I misread the original post as "Guitar Hero 5" so part of my rant doesn't have much meaning anyway.

"Don't stir the pot" is a nice way of saying "they're too dumb to reason with"

"Should I get it?" doesn't mean "Should I get it and why?". If he said that then I would have gave reasons. But he didn't, so I simply answered the question asked. When people started to complain about me answering the question, then I gave reasons.

Stating an answer and not giving reasons, just makes it so Star Fox would get very curious and then ask why, when you can just use common sense and state your reason right then and there; why you feel that way and why he should not get it and state your opinion and flaws on the franchise as a whole. I'm very curious to why you hate it and don't like the series? That's one of the reasons why I'm carrying on and another is to help Star Fox decide. (There is a reason for everything you know?)
If you can't come up with any GOOD reasons why Guitar Hero isn't good enough to buy then just admit that your a bit ignorant.

I think music games are the worst idea ever, that is my reason. I find it a good enough reason not to buy it, you don't have to agree with me. Your opinion isn't the only opinion in the world.

Worst idea ever? Yeah they get very repetitive especially GH and Rock Band(with like 3 coming out every year on average), though I think educational games are the worst idea ever for a video game next to puzzle and story telling. And thanks for answering my request. Hopefully you'll keep my advice for future reference.
And no my opinion is just my opinion nothing more, nothing less. I am only a man.

Nah, educational games can be fun. I liked the DS one from Nintendo. Can't remember what it is called. Had that annoying Japanese floating head.
Brain Training perhaps?
There are quite a few good music games. The bit-trip series is a good example, so is Rez, Rhythm Heaven, Elite Beat Agents and others (including Guitar Hero). I don't think for a second that music or rhythm games are "the worst gaming idea ever". Random battles in modern RPGs, the dodge button in some FPS' and Bloom are all contenders for "worst gaming ideas ever" IMHO, not music or rhythm games. Most music and rhythm games are actually quite good.

There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore

Nope, I remembered. It is Brain Age.
Brain Age is called Brain Training in Europe
I haven't played a Guitar Hero game properly since the first one, although I did try World Tour in GAME and really liked it. I might look into getting 5, although the prices are getting way out of hand - £80 for a game and guitar? No chance!
