Topic: Should I ask for Guitar Hero?

I understand it's phenomenally popular, but should I get one? I'd rather get the Wii versions (GH3, etc).

BTW, if you have the guitar already, do you have to buy another one with any further versions?

GH5 got a 9.3 from IGN.

The GH series is tons of fun, though IV feels a bit rushed. One guitar will work across all revisions, but I do recommend the GHIV guitar. They stiffened it a bit to prevent bounce-back and the device has an overall better feel.

I'm picking up a guitar at GS tomorrow, as I already have GH5, but no guitar. Anyway, yes, it's very fun.

GH5 according to IGN, has superior online and no friend codes.
It also allows you to transfer all the songs from previous GHs like WT and Smash Hits (I believe those are the 2 only ones), and well your always connected to your friends and a bunch of other cool neat things 360 and PS3 owners will not have!

i say no. I also dont like guitar hero and rock band. Take it from me, my opinion is the most valid one though.

Just because you are bored of the series doesn't mean others are. Some people might even be new to the series. Clearly StarFox is interested in getting another Guitar Hero type game otherwise he wouldn't be asking. With that in mind I would say that he shouldn't hesitate about Guitar Hero 5 because clearly (at least critically) its the best in the series thus far.

Random question. How many people here got Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 purely because it used Wii Motion Plus? Was that worth getting do you think? Did the fact that its the 12th in the series make it less enjoyable?

Guitar Hero 5 is currently ranked 8th on Metacritic and if you read the reviews almost every reviewer has taken into account the fact that Guitar Hero has been ridiculously milked. So perhaps you should take that into account before you shoot down this question.

@Skywake It is his opinion, why should he have to explain, just say your piece, let him say his, and then move on. Starfox should really be the one asking questions or needing explanations i think.

I highly recomend guitar hero. I own all of them. G1 thru GH3 and 80's edition for PS2. GH3, aerosmith, metallica, and world tour for wii. I had rock band for PS3 but i didn't like the guitar controller. Guitar Hero hasn't dissappointed me yet.

I'm asking for any Wii GH. I can pick up the others later on.

@ChronoCross: I don't play online because it requires disabling our firewall. Plus, I use my dad's computer for WiFi and I've misplaced my installation disc. I hope it still works, though. I damaged it when I was cutting the !@#$ packaging open.

Well if you're looking for a starting point, get GH world tour for Wii. It's my favorite by far. A good song list, with a lot of variety. The options for full band, if you want to dish out the cash. Online play, plus DLC if that appeals to you.

It isn't anything like playing a real guitar, and music games suck in my opinion. Never liked them never will.

No one plays guitar hero because it's like playing a real guitar. They play it because it's a video game and it's fun. No video game is like it's real life counter part. If you don't like music games that's cool. Enjoy what you like.

Doesn't mean other people won't. Just because you do not like doesn't mean you should tell people not to get it and FYI it is a video game if you forgot.
