Topic: Should I ask for Guitar Hero?

Unless you're one of those who like to grind a song for hours on end just to beat a high score don't get Guitar Hero, at least not full price. It's repetitive and gets boring once you have completed every song.

On the other hand it's great when you have a couple friends over, but solo I would rather watch paint dry.

Its a multiplayer party game primarily. I think that goes without saying.
I would say the same about Smash Bros and Mario Kart

If so, get 5. You'll get Van Halen for free. The roadie battle's really fun, and you can have a lot of fun without ever leaving the title screen. Just makes sure you have more than one guitar.

Oh and BTW, pokemon isn't like real cockfighting, so it must suck.

Well the way he formulated his first post it seemed as he would play it by himself, as in 'do i have to get another guitar'. So i felt it my duty to let him know that it sucks, Hard.

eh, Guitar Hero is kinda boring after a while, to be honest, unless you've got friends around to play with. it's more fun with more people playing. also, in wi-fi play, be prepared for people dropping out at the end of the song all the time if they're losing. :/

edit: hahaha i knew i should've read all the pages of this thread before replying; Firkraag totally said it all, lol. unpopular opinion or not, he's absolutely right.

Guitar Hero & Rock Band are SO uncool they are damaging the future of music! Wake up ya dorks!!!

"It makes less and less people dedicated to really get down and learn an instrument. I think is a pity so I'm not really keen on that kind of stuff." Bill Wyman

"It irritates me having watched my kids do it - if they spent as much time practising the guitar as learning how to press the buttons they'd be damn good by now." Nick Mason

"When people play Rock Band, they very quickly get a glimpse of the rewards that lie on the other side of the wall." One of the idiots responsible for this overpriced under-skilled junk.

Stop giving them money you naive twonks and The Fonz may let you back in the club. Maybe.

Damaging the future of music? Uncool? I hope you were being sarcastic.

I don't see how getting people interested in music in any way, shape or form is damaging to its future. Heaven forbid you get people who were otherwise not interested in music outside of the latest singles by Lady GaGa and the Black Eyed Peas to play along with a plastic instrument to David Bowie, Bob Dylan, Blur and A Perfect Circle. Have them even partially understand the thrill of "playing music" as part of a group/band. Heaven forbid they decide to learn an instrument after enjoying the plastic guitar experience.

Perhaps I am naive but I don't see this as a bad thing.... regardless of how "cool" it might or might not be

No I'm not, that is exactly what i think!! It's the saddest lamest activity I could think of, where as picking up a real guitar and showing some creativity is the exact opposite. Trust me, I know, I'm in 'the club'. And I feel sorry for the legions of plastic guitar waving numpties wearing tight jeans. An air guitar would be better than that ****!

This week is Beatles week and you know what they are doing for it? Firstly they are releasing remastered and remixed versions of all the Beatles albums and secondly they are releasing a version of Rock Band that takes you on a journey through their back catalogue

Again I repeat what I said before. I don't see how exposing a new generation of music fans to different types of music is ever a bad thing. Maybe you are right and kids will think that the guitar is easy but is that really a bad thing? At least the Guitar has become "cool" again, at least now kids and teens are strumming along on their plastic guitars instead of talking with a backing track. My Niece last year thought the Pussy Cat Dolls were the Cats Pyjamas. This year she is jumping around with a plastic guitar pretending to be Angus Young. This is a bad thing how?
