Considering that many old games have little chance of coming to the VC, I suppose remakes could suffice. Either in the form of WiiWare or actual games.
There should be a compilation of modern games modeled after the classic Zapper games (Duck Hunt, Hogan's Alley, etc). It'd be boxed with the Wii Zapper.
They should also release a modern Super Scope with a compilation of remade SS games.

One of the best games I've ever played. Massive open worlds, really tough, giant insects roaming the planes, drive ANY vehicle you find civilian or military, or blast 'em on foot. I wish I still had it and pray it comes to VC. And a remake?!? Yes please!
We already did that once with FireRed/LeafGreen, not to mention being able to travel to Kanto in both Gold/Silver/Crystal and their upcoming remakes.
Us Western Fire Emblem fans need remakes of the first 6 games (sans Shadow Dragon, since we have it now). I really want to play through all of them, especially FE4.

@Corbie: I totally agree. A SML remake would be awesome. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Finally, Daisy would be used in a regular game again. Maybe with Waluigi as a miniboss!

I'd love to see a remake of Space Channel 5 on Wii. I played it very briefly on Dreamcast and found it to be a lot of fun unlike the majority of modern rhythm games (Guitar Hero etc) which I find incredibly boring.
I'll second Space Channel 5; looks ace! And I'll repeat Bushido Blade -- playing Tenchu just makes me want to feel how the other (honourable) half lives!
Super Mario Land Trilogy - Update the visuals and sounds on all three GB Super Mario Land games and package them together on a DS cart.

And Wario Land 2, 3 and Virtual on another cart. I believe they can replicate the 3D stages on the DS that the VB version had to make the game playable at least even if the overall effect isn't quite the same.
