It's going to be a collection that makes Namco Museum Remix obsolete, and it actually includes the original Pac-Man this time. It looks decent, but it still think it should have still put much more games on the disc, like Rolling Thunder, Dragon Spirit, Sky Kid, Sky Kid Deluxe, Galaga 88 and the 6 Arrangement games from the mid-90s NCC series. It also doesn't seem like Namco really wants to acknowledge Ms. Pac-Man anymore for some reason.
I'm not enticed since I have all but a handful of the arcade games and I have to think a third wave of Namco arcade games will come to the VCA in Japan in the next year. Ms. Pac-Man seems like a major omission for that collection. Both that game and Pac-Man Jr. were developed by Midway I believe and then Namco officially bought them or licensed them in perpetuity.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!

I'm sure a 3rd and 4th batch of Namco arcade games will come to Japan eventually, the Namco Museum collections and the VCA releases are probably handled by different groups of people. I agree with you about Ms. Pac-Man too, they always put Ms. Pac-Man on in the past, Midway couldn't have bought it back or anything.
I wonder if this is why Namco has ignored the VC Arcade outside of Japan?
Probably not, the Namco Museum collections and the VCA releases are handled by different groups of people. This collection will probably get a Japanese release too.

I'm very bored of the Namco Museum series. When was the first volume released? 1996? Since then we've pretty much only had the same ancient games with every package - isn't it time we moved on to some more modern games? By all means keep these classics too, but how about Splatterhouse, Ridge Racer, Time Crisis, Tekken, Soul Edge etc. So many arcade classics crying out for a re-release!

The courts told Midway to give the copyrights to Namco as settlement for creating/distributing them without permission. (at least Ms. Pac-Man, I don't know about Pac Jr.)

True! and...

and my favourite puzzlegame EVER...
-Aqua Rush
And the underrated Namco Museum games from the past (on the Playstation)
They seem to be releasing the same games over and over. Are the remixed games the same as the previous disc? They seemed pretty cheesy. I like retro remakes but they looked pretty lazy. A modern 2d looks would be cool for the remix versions.
Most of the games barely take any space so I don't know why they don't put more on the disc or put out other collections with other games on it like other companies have done. The data east, snk, and taito collections for ps2 and wii were really cool because they had both obvious well known games and cool obscure or lesser known games to discover.
I'm pretty pleased with the GameCube version of the Namco Museum, so I don't have any use for this. Here's an idea: Instead of doing a second remix for the Wii, how about new WiiWare versions of these games? For example, give me classic Pac-Man with new mazes.
