Welcome back Neo Geo! KOF 95 listed by the ESRB which means the return of the Neo Geo is here.

Are you glad to see the Neo Geo return? Discuss

I got 94 and didn't care for it at all. There are a ton of characters, but they're mostly generic and unmemorable. And worst of all, you have about a million moves to memorize, most of which are impossible for standard humans to pull off. I'm glad to see Neo Geo back though. I hope this means more Metal Slug, though my biggest Neo Geo hope is Twinkle Star Sprites.

Thats what I first thought when I played my first KoF game (KoF95 on PS1) but I stuck with the series and enjoyed all of the late nineties KoF games starting from KoF96. The last few years though, I have found the KoF series to be tired with the last game I actually enjoyed being Maximum Impact 2 which many fans dislike for being 3D and different to regular KoF. I didn't even like this years revamp but then anyone who knows KoFXII will understand why.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

I guess I haven't played it enough to understand why. I played the new one in an arcade once, and I thought it was pretty cool for the one or two matches I played, at least. There was this one character particularly that was pretty cool. I thought it was a girl the whole time but found out later it was a he. Whoops.

I have KoF 99 downloaded on my PS3, and I like that one quite a bit. Hopefully the series sticks around on VC long enough to get that far. It definitely improves a lot on 94.

There were a ton of moves to remember. I usually stuck with the Fatal Fury cast because I was familiar with there moves.

I'm glad to see the Neo Geo back and I hope that we see Last Resort, Blazing Star, Shock Troopers, Metal Slug 3, and Art of Fighting 3

I cannot wait for the game. I'm predicting an early 2010 release.

Even though I don't like fighters like this there is some good news out of this, Neo-Geo VC support is coming back from the dead in NA, whenever the game comes out of course, then it's officially alive again. Let's just hope future Neo-Geo VC releases are ones that're not on collections.

I think they should bring a number of games out that aren't fighters or even combat based. There are plenty of sports games that they could release for example.

Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.

People went mad over this in the arcades. Looking forward to seeing it.

Good news naturally. The Neo Geo is a great system and deserves more support than it has gotten recently. But I'd rather see some games that aren't readily available on collections, like Iron Clad. Or even more Metal Slug so I can play it without tacked on motion controls.

Really? I found KoF94 to have a really strong and memorable cast of characters. What did you find so generic about them?

Team USA was a great example of generic character design in KOF 94.

Yes, another good example was all the other teams, but USA is unique in that it is the least unique.

I like the USA team. Sure they're goofy, but "generic"? Really? How many pimp basketball players do you see in fighting games?

Heavy D also deserves credit for being SNK's first interesting boxer character. Michael Max from Fatal Fury and Axel Hawk from Fatal Fury 2 were both horrendously boring, and Mickey Rogers from Art of Fighting, if you count him as a boxer (I wouldn't), wasn't overly interesting either.

Heavy D is also more interesting than SF2's boxer Balrog.
