Core...well....that's a different story. On the first level, it just keeps going on and on and then i mess up and it's like "woooow". Never got past that first level but I hope to finish it soon.Hopefully, I'll be able to get void soon and fail at that too!
yeah that was my experience for a long time: I'd get near the end and mess up; you go into Nether that late and you're screwed!
Well, VOID has checkpoints and continues so it's more forgiving, but you do need to be deft with the control stick and time your shrinking.
I think the simpler mechanics make BEAT more approachable, but VOID's structure make it easier to progress after messing up. It's a tough one to answer because they're very different games.
Well, Beat was all about reflexes and knowing what the different beats do. Core was more about memorizing patterns (since it does the same patterns that fit in with the music, then does it later in the level with different looking beats), I don't know what Void is like, and Runner looks like reflexes, and memorizes the level layout.
Once you've run through the levels in Core a few times, you should have a good idea about what's happening. Plus I enjoy the music more in Core. So for me, Beat is harder, but Core is way more fun.
I downloaded Beat and, though I liked it, I was majorly put off by the difficulty of Stage 3. I avoided Void and Core therefore. I may go for Runner, but we'll see....
They are all really difficult but I find Core to be hard on level 2 and Void on level 3.

As soon as you figure out the pattern, it's really simple.
Yeah, but what about when they introduce new patterns? What about those challenges? There's no way you could've gone through the whole game without screwing up at least once, especially on the later levels.
I find the hardest game in the series to be BEAT. After that I place CORE, and then VOID as the easiest. Despite VOID being the easiest, I think its grown on me a little, and might be my favorite of the three, although CORE is pretty close.

Interesting that we all have different opinions on the difficulty. Some are saying BEAT and VOID are roughly the same difficulty, but that's crazy to me... I got to the last level of VOID on my first try, but it took me weeks to get that far in BEAT. So, I guess everyone is different. I'd say BEAT and CORE are the same difficulty, but VOID is possible to beat in one sitting.
CORE is definitely my favorite of the series. Everyone should buy that one. Best music of the series, too.
I'm still stuck in the second level of Beat. There's just one part that I can't do. I guess I need to watch walkthrough video of it but that doesn't really make sense maybe. So I downloaded Core and just from a little bit after the first ones it looks really difficult (and far less fun).

I don't find the games too hard, and actually like the challenge they present. Still haven't beat the third level of Bit.Trip Beat... but will one day.
