Not really much new info at all except for the helper mode. Not really a fan of helper modes, myself. Just makes the other person wish he were actually playing instead.
Bigger Gaijin news is, I think, is what was linked in that article: Beat is coming to Apple's store for their portable devices, with new features. Sigh. I don't know what they plan on adding it, but I hope if it's nothing too major so they can patch it into the WiiWare version. I don't like having to buy a game twice to get all the features.
Empire Strikes Back is my fave Star Wars, will this be my fave Bit.Trip?
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
I was hoping the next Bit.Trip game would be DSi game. I guess the 6th one may be something of sort. I just really wonder where they're gonna go after Runner? It seemed like they hit the peak right there.
@Mickeymac: Unless they decide to make it for both systems, I doubt it. They said their focus remains Bit.Trip for WiiWare. I think it's safe to say that if they make something for a handheld, it'll either be for iThings or the 3DS.
@adam I could see feeling a bit cheated over a retail game but beat came out a while ago and is only $6. Of course they are going to have something new in a port that comes out much later but that doesn't take away from how great the original wiiware version is.
I have no idea what they are cooking up for the next bit.trip but I'm sure it will be interesting.
Have they said anything about the lilt line wiiware port since initially announcing it?
It's only $6, but having to pay for it twice to get the most complete version is still far from ideal, especially if this ends up happening for the rest of the series. Not their fault Nintendo doesn't often allow patches though, of course. Not a big deal, certainly, and rethinking it, it's not the kind of game I'd want to play on such a tiny screen anyway -- unless someone I know ever gets one of Apple's Giant Touch things that I can borrow.
Gaijin has no plans for DSiWare, though I wouldn't put it past them to get a compilation released at retail (at least I hope they do because Bit.Trip on the go seems like a natural!).

ho-ly hell would i ever pay good money for a DS/DSi retail compilation. and i say 'good money' just in case they were afraid i'd pay Monopoly money or something
