Topic: Xenoblade Chronicles X - OT

@Plateface: Yeah, the reason the digital version is fast is because it already has all four packs, so all four w/ the physical version is the same as the digital.

It's so frustrating that Rainbow Six Siege is coming out on 1st December instead of 4th December. My brilliant strategy if it was 4th December would've been:

• Go to midnight launch to pick up Xenoblade X
• Play Xenoblade X until Game Awards starts
• Watch Game Awards
• Sleep until like noon soon after Game Awards finishes
• Play more Xenoblade X when I wake up

work from the ground up with the arts, it's not too complicated. you like turn based strategy so you are a thinker, you can apply this to real time! you might feel time's against you in these kinds of battles but learn how to control the tempo of the fight and you will feel more comfortable. [i say this like i'm great at controlling the tempo, i suck!!]

I have a special surprise involving this game that I hope I can start around launch. I won't be able to talk about it directly when the time comes but keep that in mind...

Regardless though, I am so hyped. Kinda interesting that I'm finally been playing the full version of literally the only game I could possibly see myself enjoying more this year, Undertale. The winner is me though, since I get the enjoy such vastly different masterpieces in such a short amount of time (and the previews I've seen do suggest Xenoblade will live up to expectations)

Two weeks from tomorrow. Now VelvetElvis will play a game called "How Much of My Backlog Can I Clear Before Xenoblade X Hits?"

I never did ask, how does the Nopon work in this game? I just know he's not playable, which sucks because I enjoyed playing as Rikki.

@DiscoGentleman: Me too! It has been my most anticipated Wii U game for nearly as long as there has been a Wii U.

The Fiora/Shulk thing is rad. Unfortunately, hands-on impressions of the western release have confirmed that Japanese voices are not an option — just English: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-11-16-xenoblade-chroni...

The little English voice acting I've heard sounds solid (I actually prefer the English Lyn by leaps and bounds, compared to the Japanese voice, though Elma sounds a bit flat to me). I think I'm actually more disappointed that the cast isn't all British. That little touch weirdly gave Xenoblade Chronicles its own identity (which is another reason why the Shulk/Fiora nod is neat).

Xeno is out Dec 4. My birthday is Dec 6. I'm too old for the whole party thing, but if my family is planning on visiting or whatever, I sure hope their idea of fun is sitting in silence watching me play an anime game.

I was watching GameXplain's Q&A Video, and they said Xenoblade Chronicles X has a first-person view. Has anyone seen images or video of this?

As previously said all it is is the camera placing itself roughly where the player's head would be.

@rishisquid: Cool, thanks. In that case I will just stick with retail and download the packs.

@pherret022: @Tsurii I can say for certain that the game is third person since I have a review copy of the game. I don't know why anyone would say otherwise. I suppose it might be possible to play first person if you zoomed all the way in, but that's merely an option.

Ugh, so close to finishing XC 3DS...xD
If I can beat that in time, then I'll be able to nab X without having to wait until next year.

I'm getting this game, going into it totally blind. I may stream it as well, if I feel like it.

I haven't played the first game. I have it in my backlog for Wii, but haven't touched it. Is this game like a Final Fantasy situation, where it's got similar gameplay and elements, but completely different story, setting, and characters?

@Rokan: I believe that is the case. It may or may not be the same universe, but the setting, story and characters are all completely different.

...Lemme guess, you're gonna use Twitch huh? Wanting to try out Youtube's at some point...Twitch I've always had issues with, lag and quality regardless if I'm streaming or watching a stream. Even with good internet, I had to watch on Mobile quality...Youtube streams run 99% smoothly for me.

Tbh, I'm thinking of starting a Youtube Gaming channel for my streams. I'm a beginner, though. Still getting kinks worked out.

...So I was half expecting the larger size of this world and game to be a significant issue for obvious reasons. Yet, everything I've heard lately suggests almost nothing has been sacrificed despite that and in fact is in some ways improved as a sidequest heavy game. Which is very impressive. I hope that is actually true.
