Topic: Wii U lineup compared to GameCube's

Wii U definitely doesn't have the software of the gamecube, but even I have to say that list looks a little too bare bones for me to believe that's it. Also Gamecube had gameboy advance player, so that kinda cancels out the indifference of virtual console.

The point is that the Game Cube was infamous for its bad third party support and Wii U's third party support is even worst, the total opposite of what Nintendo promised when the Wii U launched (of course no one really bought into Nintendo promses which is why the thing has had so much trouble selling)

not with the VC's. Having all these awesome GBA games in between is pretty nice.
If you don't like the Wii U games it's your problem. I think Unepic, Child of Light, Scram Kitty, Pure Chess etc are great.

But there is a clear distinction between retail games and indie games. Retail games do tend to be much larger in scope/more ambitious. All of those (aside from Pure Chess), are 2D which can be a limiting factor.

That all said, the skyrocketing cost and time for developing game has reduced the number of retail releases across the board, it's not just the Wii U.

I didn't even go through that list. Most of it is garbage.
Finding Nemo? Batman: Dark Tomorrow? Shrek Super Party???? Most of that list is kind of shovelware in itself.

Notice that GameCube had Ubisoft and EA titles?

The fact that you left out Virtual Console and eShop titles makes this list invalid

Next year I'll compare Wii U to PS4 and XB1. Hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe......

GameCube was paradise compared to Wii U.

Ya. I guess we'll see whether Xbox One and PS4 have more games than Wii U by next year, because they sure as hell don't, today.

@SCAR392, you do know that having more games when you have been over one year longer in the market is nothing to be proud of..... it'll be pretty pathetic if PS4/Xbone had beaten Wii U on number of games in only 6 months in the market

Having more games, because it was out a year earlier, is a totally valid reason. Besides, Xbox One and PS4 have already been out for 7 months, and I don't even think they have as many games as Wii U did in the same time frame.

I'm just surprised you can even think that to be honest unless you are referring to 1st party games what you said is wrong.

Well, unless you think I should be going through a bunch of past release dates, we're not even going to really have a number to go on, besides the one that includes games that are already out, and future releases.

All I know is that Wii U has more games out right now.

Well as people have already pointed out it has had a whole year head start so it should.

I think he is right. For example, in 2012 Wii U had 38 games. In 2013, PS4 had 31 games.
Wii U had a lot of third party games in its first year.

@SCAR392 and @dumedum he is right the Wii U had more games at launch that Xbone and PS4 that's different than boasting Wii U is better because it has more games than consoles that have been less than a year on the market....... then 3DS/Vita/PS3/360 are bettter than Wii U because they have more games available to it now

@ferthepoet
PS3 and Xbox 360 are last gen, though, and 3DS still has more games than Vita, which are in the portable category. If we are discussing every console ever, we might as well compare the GameBoy's library.

Was it ? The only thing I wanted on the Gamecube was the Capcom Collections (Like the Ghosts n Goblins one) and Gradius V. It had Sega and Capcom (When they were making good versions). Incidently those are the Gamecube games I still play.

I think at some point GC stopped getting many/most of the multiplatform games. At this point of time it still did.

@memoryman3
Alot of those games could technically be on Wii U, though. It's not all Nintendo's fault that Wii U is not getting all the 3rd party games. Maybe if 3rd parties released 8th gen games on an 8th gen platform, people would actually care.

They don't even know how to use Wii U's hardware. Maybe once they do, they release more games.
