Topic: Why Wii U recent released game not put on store aisle for buyers to see?

This happened twice for me already. The day Pikmin 3 came out I was at Walmart to get a copy & I have to ask for it cuz it's not on display. There's probably a valid reason as to why it's not yet on display cuz it just came out when I bought it. Today though at Best Buy I see no reason as to why I have to ask for a copy of Mario 3D World when they have plenty of copies of the game. It's just that they don't put it on display. It's about 4 day after the game came out so they should have plenty of time to put the game on the store aisle. I saw no marked empty space on the store aisle for the game on the Wii U section of Best Buy. It's obvious the game was not put on display. I have to ask a store staff to get one for me.

Nintendo have no legal footing to retailers on what they display in shops. The only thing you can do if you feel so strongly is write a letter to the store and explain your situation and hope they take heed from it.

It is silly for them to purchase them in the first place and not put them up for people to buy.

It's pretty stupid for them to hide the games. When I don't find a game I'm looking for in a store, chances are I'm going to look for it elsewhere rather than start inquiring employees. I've lost faith on store clerks long time ago.

Pro Tip:

99% of the time at Best Buy the 'new release' titles are not found in the regular aisles, but on display shelving at the front of the store. Same as new release movies and music.

I was just in Wal-Mart the other day and there were dozens and dozens of copies of Mario and Zelda on display.

Yeah, I've never had issues seing first party Wii U games on display.

Even at our K-Mart, where they don't even get every new 3DS first party game, they've managed to get most of the exclusive Wii U games. NSMBU, NSLU, SM3DW, W101, P3, NL, LC:U, & WWHD were all on display, as well as some non-exclusives (NG3, ACIII, COD:BOII). There was one more game too, but I can't remember what it was (probably Sonic or Game & Wario, but I can't remember which).

I was about to do that. Good thing I saw a store staff before I could leave. He told me the game is probably in new release aisle. I told him I already checked there & there's none. I know they have the game cuz I checked it first on there website before going to the store.

In the case of the retailer I work at its that the Wii/WIi U lines aren't doing well. The 3DS, Xbox and PlayStation families each have two cases to themselves with the plan to have one for each so right now there's seven display cases split like this

Case 1: Xbox 360 Games
Case 2: Xbox 360 stuff with the small amount of Xbox One games
Case 3: PS3 stuff
Case 4: PS3/PS4/Vita stuff
Case 5: Wii/Wii U with much more wii stuff
Case 6: 3DS stuff
Cas3 7: 3DS/DS stuff

Next year they're expecting it to quickly become

Case 1: XBox One games and consoles
Case 2:Xbox 360
Case 3: PS4/Vita
Case 5: Wii/WIiU
Case 6: 3DS
Case 7:3DS/DS

A big problem is how terrible the Wii U has been doing and it doesn't help that the Wii/Wii U boxes are pretty similar. Sales have been picking up but for the longest time We still had stock from around march of this year. They're earger for more software for the other two consoles to give them seperate displays after we sold about forty units each on each console's respective launch day.

If you move to Australia we have no gaming console discrimination... Everything is fairly equal here except for the Vita

I don't know what the hell kind of mystery lands some of you people live in but where I live I can walk into the big box retailers and see all the games for all systems with no problem.

Not entirely true as I went to pick up a link between worlds and it was hidden away I had to ask them to get it as they had no label or no case on the shelves.
