Topic: What Ninty franchises would you like to do a genre swap?

Are there any Nintendo franchises that you'd like to see return but with a new take? Like how Metroid Prime went FPS, Star Fox Adventures going action-adventure etc,.

i rather have totally new franchises than genre swapping older ones

Not really Ninty but ZombiU, make it 3rd-person open-world (whole of inner London) with the same mechanics for scanning, inventory and looting. Keep permadeath and make your character have to get extra lives by having survivors in safe houses. Allow driving and weapon crafting a bit like Dead Rising (cricket bats are a nice weapon but in reality, everyone would use anything as a melee weapon in a zombie invasion).

For a pure Nintendo franchise to be rebooted. I would say reinvent Luigi's Mansion as a survival horror.

What I want is Mario vs. Donkey Kong to swap back to being a puzzle/platformer, I really hate whoever came with the idea of turning that amazing franchise into a Lemming's clone

I'd like to see Zelda take a more Devil May Cry/Ninja Gaiden/Darksiders approach to the action. Still have the adventure/exploration element ,but make the action more combo based like the mentioned games as well as give link the ability to jump.

Metroid i'd like to see go survival-horror/3rd person shooter (ie Resident Evil 4/Dead Space style)

I'd like to see Star Fox go Ratchet n' Clank direction. On planets run around jumping/running/gunning then to change planets go old school shooter based ,but kind of like wind waker-ish as the whole space would be open to explore. i know they did something similar with star fox adventures ,but my take would be take out the zelda vibe for the more ratchet n' clank planet side gameplay.

Kid Icarus i'd like to see be Nintendo's version of God of War obviously less gory ,but the similar combat style.

This would also be a good direction, IMO.
