I'm not disappointed because I didn't expect the Wii U to be the god of all gaming that would swoop down and make high-end PCs look like 5 year old garbage. I expected the Wii U to be a badass gaming console and it has proven that it is in both quality and price. Jeez. You can't ask for the moon and expect the galaxy. Be glad someone went out of their way to bring you the frickin' moon.
I own a PS1, GBA, GBA SP, Wii (GCN), 360, 3DS, PC (Laptop), Wii U, and PS4.
I used to own a GBC, PS2, and DS Lite
There's a big difference between a dissapointment and dead.
Saying E3 is dissapointing shows that there wasn't enough to really get you excited.
Saying E3 is dead shows that it isn't accomplishing its purpose any more: to provide information on video games coming out in the forseeable future.
The only real disappointment from E3 is that Apple doesn't participate.
Ubisoft, Paradox Interactive, indie devs, Konami - these folks and plenty others had a good E3 this year. Nintendo disappointed because Nintendo is clearly snubbing E3 in preference for these Direct things. That's more a problem on Nintendo's part than E3.
I'm still holding out for seeing a Smash Bros teaser/trailer sometime next year. For a while I've been thinking we'd see it at E3, but with how big Nintendo Direct has become, there is always the chance it could appear earlier, even if it is still only a few months into development at this time.

@kyuubikid213 Props for the loyalty man, but I have yet to see a WiiU game that is in the same league as Crysis 2 on max settings with Direct X 11.
I never said the Wii U would be able to top high-end PCs or even come close to that. The PC market is completely different because it isn't defined by generation by the current available hardware. The PCs are separated into "generations" by how high you can crank the settings and whether or not it looks better than the last game you did that to. I was only saying I wasn't disappointed because the Wii U has proven that it is a console well worth my $380.

I could buy a $800 useless iphone5 that takes photos and plays music the same as iphone4 and has innovated by giving you an extra row on your screen (I liked how the crowd sarcastically said WOW!) or I can get my awesome WiiU super mega premium deluxe ZombiU package with LEGO City and download Trine 2... WOW! what a hard decision

Last time I checked, E3 isn't dead.
Well its per pose is to get gamers excited, and a lot of gamers arnt excited, also it isn't literally dead, it's just an expression, like how many claim Nintendos dead

The complaining about the lack of heaps of storage a few pages back is nonsense. Yes, they could have probably put a 320GB HDD instead of a 32GB SSD in there and it would have cost the same amount. Alternatively you could buy the 8GB sku and grab an external HDD of ~320-500GB at the same time for the price of the 32GB model. By the time the "casual" users need more storage they will be able to walk into a supermarket and pull a 128GB thumbdrive from the shelf.
........ or if you're anything like me you could simply wade through your desk junk and find an old portable 250GB HDD and just use that
Actually I am now, I can't play my VC games with the Pad... guess I wont be buying a Wii U for a while then.
So you were planning to buy a Wii U purely for the chance of playing a game in the bathroom? Amazing.
I don't want to play it ON the Pad I want to play my VC games USING the Pad as a controller. Or the Pro controller for that matter but I guess the VC games are played in Wii Mode.
I wanted to play VC games when my roommates are hogging the TV, this is pretty disappointing. Hopefully they'll update at least the major VC titles to run on the gamepad. Also, if they do add GameCube support, those should work with the gamepad which will be nice.
Well the pro controller looks like an XBox controller (which is just a GCN controller with flipped DPad and nub controller)
