By the way, I can't figure out how to play the game just on the gamepad. I can do it on multiplayer but if I turn it on without the TV, I get no music, and just a map when trying to race.

Yeah, they don't tell you how in the manual, but it's a tip in the game? You just hold your finger on the GamePad screen and swipe down to play just on the GamePad.

I foresee what you'll do there.

I have a question about this game. I've never played the first game and I plan on picking this up when I get a Wii U. Now, is there a battle mode in here similar to Mario Kart's battle mode?

Guys, do the bugs ruin the experience? How noticeable are they? I need to know this as I'm getting the game tonight (hopefully). Looking forward to it, as it will be the first 3rd party game I'm buying on Wii U.
@RYBlast
The Boost Mode is broken but thankfully it can be skipped, and one of the Battle mode maps spawns you in space but overall I don't think they ruin the experience. The racing is a blast and some of the tracks are fantastic especially if you're a Sega fan.

Thanks. As far as the main game goes, is it playable?

If the box has a Bonus Edition label on the front then it's included as well as Metal Sonic. I believe after all the bonus editions are sold then you'll have to buy it as DLC.

@Sweedishdolphin - I picked mine up here in the UK and it says "Special Edition" on the front, and has Metal Sonic. OutRun Bay appears in the "Bonus Tracks" section. I haven't seen any NON-Special Edition copies anywhere yet, so I don't know if its just a standard inclusion with the Wii U edition.
