Good move? Bad sign? Some business savvy? What's the input on this?

Edit: I think it is a good idea to take that direction to try to clean some things up financially.

A noble, mostly symbolic gesture. I'm sure it will help the bottom line some and it's only temporary, but this is the kind of accountability more execs should take.

Target, for instance, totally botched their security, attempted to protect their holiday results by withholding important info until the last possible moment, and generally S---ing all over their most loyal customers (thanks for that extra 10% off when most people affected were frantically canceling their cards and re-assessing their holiday shopping; that was a stealth gesture strictly to boost the failing bottom line, but they try to spin it as making amends).

Now, suddenly they are dramatically squeezing hours for their employees because, unsurprisingly, they didn't meet their absurd goals. I live near the HQ and am well-tuned to the business news and I've heard basically zero accountability from the Target execs. It's a sickening situation.
