Banana begins with B, orange begins with O.
BO is an acronym for body order.
Nintendo is trying to subliminally tell us we stink.
Clearly they're trying to lower our self esteem so we feel that we need their help to be better people.
That or the Wii U doubles as an air freshener.

Peace!
Or colors? Yellow, orange... next would be red? That doesn't make any sense...
WHAT ARE THEY TRYING TO TELL US?!
Maybe it's in the language of the person holding it, well if it was fruit it would still be the same, if it was color orange would be the same, but yellow would be Ki
Banana was first so it would spell out KO so far... Konami? Are they teaming up with Konami?

It would be awesome if Miyamoto is making a new Yoshi game. Especially if its a 3D one as there's never been a 3D Yoshi platformer before so it would be interesting to see how they would handle that..
I was disappointed by the music from NSMBU that we heard in the video because of how familiar it sounds. I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I was hoping the music would sound less familiar with how much more effort they seem to be putting into NSMBU over NSMB2. At least it doesn't sound like it will have almost the exact same soundtrack as another game in the series like NSMB2 does.
Because getting a girlfriend on Miiverse is totally normal.
Well it's no different then online dating, which I'd rather do anyway since you can't tell what they look like and can only get feelings based on what they tell you about themselves.

Also much easier to pretend that you are someone who you aren't (works both ways).
I hope we can turn off Miiverse features in games, I'd rather not see messages pop up every time I die or see messages all over the world map in NSMBU.

It's likely that we can turn the feature off (if not, just disconnect from WiFi). I hope we have a lot of control in the setting for it. Like, hypothetically, if I just wanted the messages off for the world map but want them on when I die? Either way, only a few days until we know all this for sure!

You'll have my pity while you're unknowingly flirting with a hairy middle-aged man with obscene facial acne.
@Master_Ryno: Oh, I apologise. I was completely unaware that only a certain set of people could be found on a particular console. Heaven forbid the Wii U ever be bought by anybody other than prepubescent children, and even more so that anybody other than immature college students buy a PS3 or Xbox 360.
For the record, the snide humour in my comment was in the fact that gamers like that are rare in the common demographic of Nintendo consoles.

For the record I just meant it as a joke. I should have put a smiley face. I like you, I appreciate what you have to say and if I came off as anything more than playing off your snide humor than I apologize and would like to buy you a beer.

@Ryno: Oh well, sorry for opening fire on you like that. Unfortunately I'm not legal yet, so I'll resolve to let you buy me a Frosted Strawberry PopTart. We'll share.

No source, just a guess. We've had two Nintendo Direct videos now that have featured first Iwata, then Bill Trinen holding and staring at an item of fruit. Both instances have been seemingly random, unexplained and totally out of content of the videos. It has also been made very obvious, not slipped in where it might not be noticed. This seems like a classic case of hidden messages and cryptic clues. The only thing I think of when I link fruit and Nintendo is Yoshi. Since Miyamoto teased a unspecified new game earlier this year, I'm betting that it's a new Yoshi.
Check them out for yourself if you haven't seen them, these links will start you just before the fruit incidents:
