If we are talking strictly developer, Nintendo wins the time + quality race, if your looking at the present and no so long ago past, yeah, guys like Blizzard, Bungie, Rockstar, Ubisoft Montreal, Atlus, Bethesda, Naughty Dog, etc., all need to be considered as well.
They are good no doubt, but it's hard to say "Rockstar/Naughty Dog/Bungie (etc) are the best developer today" when those studios put out 1-2 big games every 4 years, while Nintendo cranks out a minimum of 3-5 highly rated "must have" games annually.
It really isn't even close at all, regardless of your personal gaming tastes.
If that's the case than shouldn't we break up nintendo's output by each separate developer.
No, because the question was "Is Nintendo the greatest developer/publisher today?", which encompasses everything they make themselves or fund/assist other studios to produce.
So shouldn't the same be qualified to other publishers.
Sure. I'm not stopping you from listing off all the games Bethesda, EA, or anyone else you chose developed/published in 2013 and comparing them to the list of Nintendo's games I posted earlier
Yes, Nintendo is the best. I am pretty much done playing 10 hour single player campaign games set in dark, apocalyptic worlds, filled with lame cut scenes and generic video game characters like a space marine or a European from the middle ages .
It's pretty clear you don't know anything outside of Nintendo.
