Has anyone ever noticed the easter eggs in Nintendos games that foreshadow another? Here are the ones that I have found...(that I remember)
Kirby Airide- two flowers appear in the city trial mode, on top of the town hall, and on top of a rock formation, one is purple, one is white... this represents Pikmin 2, the initial colors with white flowers, and the white, and purple with purple flowers.
Super Mario Sunshine- this one im a little less positive on what it actually is... in the secret of the bottle at noki bay, at the bottom there is a little rock pile with a door. if you go up to the door, and turn your camera just right, you can see a book sitting on the table inside the house. I think this may represent Paper Mario the Thousand-Year Door's opening with the star book since it resembles that...
Super Mario Galaxy- at the Toy Time galaxy, in one mission there is an area where you use spring power-up to go up really high.... if you stop and go towards the screen, on the side of one of the blocks your climbing, in a little hole you can only see if you press up on the d-pad, there is a little train representing the Legend of Zelda Spirit Tracks
MAYBE
Super Mario Galaxy 2- at the shiver burn galaxy? (im not sure because i think there is another one with a similar theme) right in the beginning if you look at the background there are three figures standing on the top of the rocks... every where you go they are there... i have no idea what this could mean but its probably a game, or a part of a game we havent see yet...
anyway it seems these games are all Miyamoto made games...
tell me if you guys no any others!
SMG2 came out 3 years ago. You really think that they were foreshadowing a game that far ahead? And I don't think the three figures are foreshadowing anything. I think they were just there to give the level a creepier atmosphere. I'm sure there was a real reason behind it, but that's most likely just something that the developers know, since developers usually like to hide little stuff in their games. 99% of the time it's not to foreshadow another game.
Those creepers i remember them. There are 2 of them in city folk( animal crossing city folk) one is the bobble head capin has. It's him as a boat driver. This his job in new leaf. Also there is a sog called DJ K.K. K.K sings country but in new leaf he is a DJ. So maybe these shadow figures will appear in the next 3D mario.

As for the three figures in ShiverBurn Galaxy (that don't resemble any creatures in the game, or any other Mario game), the background texture ShiverBurn used (which they're a part of) was originally going to be used for an area known as "Pass at Hell Valley", or something along those lines, & the figures probably would have resembled something in that area (which was obviously scrapped).
As for the book in Sunshine, I remember hearing somewhere (probably Did You Know Gaming), that you can actually see inside the book at a certain angle, revealing blurry Japanese text that reads "you have no life" (obviously indicating that if you have the time to try and figure out how to get to the book, you have no life).
It's been a while since I've watched any Mario DYKG? videos though, so my renditions are probably a bit off.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
The figures at shiverburn may just seem developers trolling or having fun, not a scrapped area.... Here is the actual texture extracted from the game (originally, the figures were white and the background black, but I edited the image)

Actually, those are forest spirits in Japanese mythology. If you've watched a film called Princess Momonoke, then you might recognize these little guys. Look them up if you skeptic or if you're interested in Japanese mythology.
As for the file name, I think it's a rough translation of the level's code name in Japan. If I remember correctly, it's a lava level. Considering how Japan has little to no problem integrating their mythology, they probably called it "Hell Valley Sky" as a code name in some earlier build (before localization).
This fits considering it's a lava stage and te theme of he game is about galaxies, or rather "skies."
The Pikmin fact was pretty cool, it makes sense as they were working on it for Wii at the time before WiiU was announced.
I've seen lots of easter eggs, but not much foreshadowing.

The lava level in super mario galaxy 2 is lava and ice, and revolves around you getting around on a cloud. So they may have to do with Japanese mythology. @DudeSean: it was said that they doubted a game that came out 3 years before could hint at something in a 3ds game. I was pointing out things in animal crossing city folk that hinted at the next game new leaf which is over 4 years later then city folk. Always remember this Nintendo plans ahead weather or not you think they do.

Perhaps, but if you remember, connecting a GameBoy to your GCN in the original Animal Crossing let you access an island. He rode you there in a boat. I assume that Nintendo has it there as a reminder of his past job.

Oh i didn't know that, the first one is the only one i haven't played.

Wow. That's insulting that you think I don't know that Nintendo plans ahead. And you were wrong about the Animal Crossing thing, so, your point has been negated.
A) they have said that multiple times, they always are prepared, B) you had no reason to be rude as i wasn't being or trying to be rude. C) one out of 2 things with animal crossing city folk was proven wrong. I meant that for everyone, that it is always good to remember that. So please be nicer next time and don't take anything offensive that shouldn't be taken that way.
You sure seemed it but that is fine then, anyway then there may be foreshadowing of a possible game in paper mario sticker star. There is a letter hidden in it from parakarry, it is very hard to find( you have to go dumpster diving). The fact that it is hard to find makes me think they may be remaking paper mario 64 for the wii U, but we will have to wait and see. The main creator working on the game said he had plans for another paper mario already but said he couldn't say anything about it. We may see it at E3 or have to wait longer then that,
What if all the Mario references in Lego City Undercover mean there is going to be a new Mario game?
