It is indeed goat. Maybe a little too ealy to tell but its the chrono trigger of this console cycle.
the idea is already amazing and it looks perfect, now all that's left are gameplay, story and fun to see if this is the greatest of all time!

It's a shame Monolith isn't getting much more attention. Xenoblade was basically a love letter to every 90s JRPG fan out there. It delivered everything that everybody wanted out of a successor to the PS1 era of JRPGs, and nobody played it, because Nintendo of America decided to only release 500,000 copies in North America. That game should have been in every household in the 'verse.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

to be fair, considering only recently have console JRPGs come back to being relevant to even much of its own audience (FF and maybe SMT aside), it wasn't gonna be a huge hit no matter what happened. Especially on the Wii at that point.
I'm hopeful X's sales will be doubled now that Nintendo actually seems to be actively making the game look important.
To be honest I think Xenoblade meh sales aside brought alot of attention back to the JRPG genre. That with Ni NO Kuni and the amount of tales games really helped the genre make a bit of a come back.
Right now we have quite a few next-gen JRPGs (or game with similar playstyles on the horizon).
X
Final Fantasy XV
Kingdom Hearts III
Wonder Flick
Project Phoenix
Cosmic Star Heroine
Soul Saga
Shin Megami Tensi X Fire Emblem
Considering adding Pokemon to the list but those games are seemingly immune to JRPG fatigue. Monster Hunter 4 and Vraverly defaut are already out so didn't put them either,
WAT!

Are you kidding?! Xenoblade did incredibly well! Especially for the circumstances. It was a JRPG that was released with very limited stock(thanks a lot, Nintendo) on a console that was already at the end of its life cycle. I won't say any more.
