Apparently back in July several people lost their MK8 save data. My save data is still in my external storage but the game won't acknowledge it, either with the HDD on or off (I was really hopeing it was stupid HDD issue as I've had those before.) So, anybody have a solution? Just spent $12 on the DLC so the timing isnt good.
My mistake, the save files are all on the interior storage, I didn't yet have my HDD hooked up back when I played it last. Going to go make a a back-up copy on my thumbdrive and start moving stuff around, here, there and everywhere. I just went thru all this w/ Hyrule Warriors, cant beleive it's happeneing again. All those people who say external is just like internal must have a HDD attached form day 1, Nintnedo can't program.

Hey @jariw, where'd ya go? Well anyway, I could spell if I were paid to spell. Actually I can spell very well, but I can't type to save my life. Nintendo can make games, but they can't get their hardware to work the way people expect it to. Not that Sony or MS are doing any better. Or Ubi. Or Revolution studios (DriveClub.)

Saved game data on Wii U blows. Console locked. No way to transfer. No way to log in online on another console. A nightmare to try and backup.
No incentive to own multiple consoles and a pain in the ass for those who do.
I really don't get it.....while we hope they move more towards an account system they seemed to have moved backwards in many ways. You could always transfer save data between consoles before whether the game was on the cart, a memory card, or on the wii even with SD cards (minus a couple of games that locked save data down).
