Topic: Mario IS washed up

Let's be honest I love Nintendo but the main man has lost it since Galaxy 2. Seriously the core gameplay of EVERY game since then has been nothing new and in the case of the 3D games, getting smaller in scale. 3D World had a few interesting levels, and Mario Kart 8 a few interesting tracks, but seriously where's the next big change in the series? Honestly Mario hasn't had an original idea for a game since Sports Mix...
I feel like Nintendo is doing well, but they're playing it WAY too safe with the plumber.

I was expecting Super Mario Surfing. I'm disappointed now.

I think you set your expectations too high for some of these games. Either that or you are nitpicking at too much detail

Lemme guess, you enjoy the 2D Mario games.

It's just disappointing because Mario was setting the bar from Donkey Kong till Galaxy..

Tbh I generally enjoy 3D more, I put 64 and the Galaxy games above every 2D game besides World.

I also think you are misusing the term "washed up". If Mario were washed up, he wouldn't still be selling millions of copies of games.

I like the 3D Mario games because they're always trying something new, Galaxy 1/2 had the whole gravity thing, 3D Land mixed 2D and 3D game elements together, and 3D World I believe is the first 3D Mario game to have simultaneous multiplayer. Can't wait to see what they're up to next. (Toad's game doesn't count, lol)

The only thing about Mario that's washed up is Mario Party, Mario Sports & the New Super Mario Bros series. The main Mario games, and Mario Karts are still good, and offer new things.
